Journal of Deaf Studies and Deaf Education، یکی از معتبرترین مجلات علمی منتشر شد.

Dr Guita Movallali and, Dr Bahram Malakooti at the first Gala fundraising of Faranak Foundation.

Parts of our founders’ speach at the event:

Tonight, we have shared our vision.
Now we want to ask you to help us make that vision real.

Imagine a family receiving a diagnosis and hearing:
“You are not alone. We are here with you.”

Imagine a parent having access to trusted information, community, and support from the very beginning.

Imagine a deaf child growing up with language, connection, confidence, and opportunity.

This is the impact we want to create.

Your support can help us reach more families, develop accessible resources, expand parent education and mental health programs, build community, and strengthen the voice of families in Ontario.

But we are not asking you only to support a program.
We are asking you to invest in a future.

And there are many ways to stand with us.
Give what you can.
Become a monthly supporter.
Volunteer your time or expertise.
Connect us with a partner.
Open a door.
Share our work.

Because every contribution—large or small—can become something meaningful:

another family supported, another parent empowered, another resource created, another child given greater opportunity.

We have started this journey, but we cannot—and do not want to—build the future alone.

We want to build it with you.

So tonight, we invite you to stand with Faranak, invest in families, invest in early access, and invest in the future of our children.

Because every deaf and hard-of-hearing child deserves timely access to language.

Every family deserves support.

And every child deserves the opportunity to communicate, connect, belong, and thrive.

Let’s build that future—together….. by @faranakfoundation

At the Faranak Foundation’s inaugural fundraising gala, we were honoured to welcome Sara Yahyaei, a talented young Iranian Deaf woman whom we have known for many years. Today, we are proud to celebrate her remarkable journey. 💚

Sara did not have access to adequate early intervention opportunities during her childhood—opportunities that could have made a meaningful difference in her development and life. Yet, her story did not end there.

After moving to Canada, Sara continued to pursue her dreams. Today, she is a PhD student, a daf player, and a passionate musician who expresses her talents and aspirations through the power of music. 🥁✨

At our gala, Sara performed with her music group and shared a few words about her journey. Her story was a powerful reminder of the challenges that can arise when children do not receive the support they need early in life—and of the determination it takes to keep moving forward.

Every deaf and hard of hearing child deserves access to early intervention, family support, and equitable opportunities to learn, communicate, and reach their full potential.

At Faranak Foundation, we believe that early intervention is not a privilege; it is a right that can transform futures.

Dear Sara, we are proud of you and the path you are creating. May the rhythm of your daf inspire greater dreams, stronger communities, and a future filled with equal opportunities for every child. 💚🦋

💙 Recognizing the Impact of Faranak Foundation 💙🦋

A meaningful moment from the inaugural Faranak Foundation Fundraising Gala on September 23, 2026, featuring the Honourable Michael Parsa, Ontario’s Minister of Children, Community and Social Services (MCCSS).

We are sincerely grateful for his kind words about our founders, Dr. Guita Movallali and Dr. Bahram Malakooti, and the mission and impact of the Faranak Foundation.

His message reminds us of something fundamental: Every child deserves the opportunity, support, and access to early intervention needed to reach their full potential.

At Faranak Foundation, we believe that every child who is deaf or hard of hearing deserves access to communication, learning, mental health support, and equal opportunities—whatever communication pathway best meets their needs.

When meaningful work is recognized and supported, we move closer to a more inclusive future for every child and family. 💙

Thank you, Minister Michael Parsa, for joining us, recognizing our work, and supporting a mission that puts children and families first.

🦋 Together, we can build a future where every child has the opportunity to thrive.

✨ Eshita Agarwal: A Powerful Voice for Inclusion

At the Faranak Foundation’s fundraising gala on September 23, 2026, we were honoured to welcome Eshita, a student with cochlear implants, whose powerful speech deeply moved everyone in the room. 💙

In her speech, Eshita shared her experience of growing up hard of hearing, using hearing aids, and later receiving cochlear implants. She spoke about discovering new sounds, as well as the challenges she continues to face in group conversations, at school, and in everyday situations.

With honesty and courage, she described moments when she missed parts of conversations or realized that a movie theatre did not offer captions. Her story reminded us that accessibility is not a privilege; it is a right that should be available to everyone.

Thank you, Eshita, for sharing your story with such confidence, courage, and strength, and for showing us that no barrier can stand in the way of your dreams and potential. ✨

✨ Kristen Kyone: A Journey That Inspires

At the Faranak Foundation’s fundraising gala on September 23, 2026, we were honoured to welcome Kristen Keown, a talented young woman with hearing loss, medical student, and dedicated volunteer. 💙

Kristen shared her personal journey, reminding us that hearing loss does not define a person’s dreams, potential, or future.

For years, she has volunteered with VOICE @voice4deafkids for Children who are deaf & hard of hearing, and she continues to give back through her volunteer involvement with the Faranak Foundation.
