Probably my most cherished Shiny out of the Community Day Shinies from this year: Shiny Zorua!

Thanks to yesterday's Community Day, I managed to secure one while chowing down on Xinjiang Chow Mein at Lanzhou Lamian. Finding one was a pain since the shiny rate was pretty abysmal for a Community Day mon plus I had to go through the transformation transition animation multiple times which made the entire catching process a slog.

After all these times, I finally found Shiny Zorua! I almost gave up, but hey, it was a well-deserved reward for my hard work!

Lunchies at Lanzhou Lamian Tokyo Riverside PIK 2 (for the 3rd time) during Zorua Community Day. Well not much of a lunchies anymore since I ate there at 4 PM as I had to go back home after Japanese Corporate Culture class to put my lappy back home and to take a little rest.

I had a delicious yet spicy Xinjiang Chow Mein, the same one my Mom had back during my first trip to PIK 2 back in August. It was spicy and delicious, and it was no ordinary Chow Mein. They used hand-pulled noodles in place of your usual egg noodles and as the name suggests, it uses spices from Xinjiang cuisine like cumin, fennel seeds and dried chili. The portion was insanely big and filling, and it costed only IDR 60k per plate so it was worth it.

For dinner before heading back home, I tried their Cong You Bing or scallion pancake. At first glance it looked like roti prata or roti chanai but no, the texture was different. It was more like Turkish pita but fried and enriched with chopped scallions. It was crispy and savory, and went well with the black vinegar as its dipping sauce. The vinegar had a great smell and a distinct sour taste.

Sea salt ice cream from AEON Eastvara. Tastes like the ice pop from Kingdom Hearts except in soft serve form! I remembered that AEON Supermarket serve sea salt ice cream and thanks to my new interest in Kingdom Hearts, I decided to have one for dessert! Woohoo!

Lunchies at Intermoda Modern Market BSD City again, this time I went to BSD City yesterday as part of a college project to conduct a research at AEON Eastvara. It was so sudden and unplanned but hey, unplanned things are better than planned!

I went back to Pekingducklovers for their tasty and delicious Peking duck, this time served with Hong Kong egg noodles, minced chicken and bok choy. I brought my food container and cutleries from home to make my lunch experience here easier.

The duck was juicy inside and crispy outside, roasted to perfection. As for the minced chicken and bok choy, I drizzled the chili oil on top of them and separated them from the roasted duck. Double delish!

Lunchies at the Intermoda Modern Market in BSD City. I originally went here to try the Jiang Xiang Bing at Laoyoo, but sadly it was closed. However, I found a great place to eat Peking duck. Previously it had a stall at Gandaria City's food court, but I never tried it back then.

The roasted duck was drizzled in hoisin sauce and served with Hainanese rice, pickled mustard greens, soy sauce eggs, chicken broth, chili soy sauce and chili oil. The meat was great, and I haven't ate roasted duck in a long time. For IDR 48k, it was cheap and filling for a plate of Peking duck with Hainanese rice. Though, I still want to try a real Peking duck someday, with the wrapping and such.

Fried sawtooth barracuda in Thai chili sauce (or Sam Rod sauce). Normally you can't order this fish to be fried in Thai chili sauce, but I found out that you can ask the fish market attendant nicely if you want a certain fish species to be cooked in an unusual way. I did this before with the areolate grouper steamed in Teochew style, and it worked with the sawtooth barracuda.

The fish was great, flaky inside and crunchy outside. I could eat the bones and tail too since it was deep-fried, and the sauce was spicy, sour and sweet at the same time. Before heading home, I saved the fish's head and bone scraps for my Mom's cats to feast upon.

The end of my holiday, at Sentul City!

I can't believe that I finally arrived at this beautiful place after a decade since my last visit back in 2016. So many things has changed, and now Sentul has a zoo!

Sure it's not as big as Taman Safari or Lembang Park and Zoo but D'Otentik River Park is a cheap alternative to see zoos while enjoying Sentul City's breathtaking atmosphere and looking for a great place to reconnect with nature. Not only that, the nearby mosque at Tazkiah University was beautiful and it reminded me of Turkish and Uzbek mosques. Near the entrance to the zoo is a statue of the legendary warrior Guan Yu as a Transformer mecha made out of recycled car parts.

I hope to visit Sentul City again next time, now that this place is accessible via Transjabodetabek for a small fee.

Lunchies at Lanzhou Lamian PIK 2 after finishing my 7th semester's re-enrollment back in Al-Azhar University. This time I ordered their Ziran Yangrou Baimian, or hand-pulled noodles with stir-fried lamb in cumin sauce. The lamb was chewy and delicious and TBH I haven't ate lamb in a long time. There aren't any gamey smell thanks to the cumin marinade and the portion was so big. Thankfully it wasn't pretty hard to get there, so I can come back here again soon.

Before I go to Aloha PIK 2 to go sunsetting for a bit, I bought their delicious Roujiamo, a flatbread sandwich from Shaanxi filled with braised beef. It got cold when I arrived there but it was still delicious. The bread was flaky and the meat was juicy and filled with delicious beef broth. It kinda reminded me of Turkish pita kebab, and believe it or not the Roujiamo is older than your usual hamburger.

Lunchies and dinner during GO Fest Finale. While I didn't caught any Shinies today, but I had a great meal! I didn't expect to find my favorite hand-pulled noodles from Lanzhou, Gansu in this very mall that I used to visit back during the events of Summer Splash 2016 in Canada.

For lunch, I had the classic Lanzhou Beef Noodles. I followed the "One Clear, Two White, Three Red, Four Green, Five Yellow" tradition this time, but I separated the chili oil so it won't ruin the soup's taste. It was slightly smaller in size compared to the one I had at Maji Lanzhou in Mediterrania or the one I had back in PIK2, but it tasted as good as the other two Lanzhou Beef Noodles. The chili oil always goes last when my mouth is stuffed with noodles and beef.

For dinner before heading home, I had a delicious Ban Mian, or Laghman, a traditional Uyghur hand-pulled noodle dish, originating from Central Asian cuisine. I remember seeing this dish in my Japanese textbook during the 2025-2026 odd semester and I wanted to taste one. And finally, the dream has come true. While it's not a noodle soup dish like its Lanzhou cousin, it has a delicious soupy sauce enriched in spices like cumin and fennel seeds, and a mix of beef, peppers, tomatoes and wood ear mushrooms. I actually had this once at Maji Lanzhou, but this one is better!

Lunchies at Tokyo Hub PIK 2 during my epic trip to PIK 2 today. To my surprise I found out that Lanzhou Lamian has an outlet here. My stomach is saved!

The portion was as big as the one I had at Mediterrania near the Central Park, and it was as good as the one from there as well! The taste of cilantro and traditional Lanzhou spices flared in my tongue as soon as I slurped down the soup. The beef was tender and the noodle was chewy too, as it was boiled as soon as possible after being stretched and pulled multiple times.

The only downside is that they don't have metal spoon and fork so I had to use chopsticks (just in case if I go to Japan or any East Asian countries someday).

Lunchies at the Intermoda Market in BSD City. Located at the exit of Cisauk Station, this market has a pretty good food court, and one stall apparently sells rare Chinese snacks called Lao Yoo. First is the Jiang Xiang Bing, a crispy flatbread coated in a special sauce made using fermented bean sauce from Hubei. Second is the Xian Bing, a flaky pastry-like flatbread filled with minced beef or chicken and onions from Shaanxi. They also sell Youtiao (dough sticks) and other Chinese fried snacks, but I didn't try them.

Pretty filling, and cheap too for rare Chinese delicacies like these.
