POSTS STORIES REELS

My experience in Lahore so far has been a strange mix of admiration, frustration, and a lot of things I’m still trying to understand.

One of the first things I noticed was how common begging and tipping has become. It feels like everywhere I go, someone is asking for money, a tip, or trying to find some way to get something from you. What has surprised me even more is how often I’ve felt that people are trying to lie, exaggerate, or trick you to get it.

And yet, there have also been moments that completely contradict that experience. When you have a genuine conversation with someone, you can experience incredible hospitality. I’ve met friends here who have been genuinely kind, shared what they had, and gone out of their way to help me. Those moments have reminded me that there is a very warm side to Lahore too.

Coming from Balochistan and KP, I’ve always heard that Punjab has everything, better infrastructure, more development, more opportunities, and in many ways it clearly does. But development and infrastructure aren’t the only things that shape a place. The way people interact with one another has felt very different from what I’m used to, and that has probably been my biggest cultural observation so far.

Another thing I’ve noticed is the visible presence of the transgender and queer community in Lahore. It has made me think about how much this city has changed over time. Lahore has such an enormous history. Mughal emperors, Sikh rulers, poets, artists, scholars, and centuries of cultural exchange. It was also an important city in the history of the Afghan dynasties, with Afghan rulers and armies repeatedly passing through and fighting for control of Lahore and Punjab.

Knowing all of that history makes walking through Lahore feel different. You start thinking about the kings who once ruled here, the battles that were fought here, and the incredible poetry, art and culture that came out of this city. Then you look around at Lahore today and wonder how much has changed and what has been lost along the way.

Maybe I’m judging too quickly. Maybe I simply haven’t seen enough of the city yet.

What if tourism was different back home? In China things are different. If we enforce rules maybe things can change for the better. by @farhannvlogs

Unusual sports in Quetta, Episode 3. Snooker

Snooker is seen as a taboo sport, with people avoiding just because elders told them not to go, it feels strange going and playing it. The people love it a lot and it’s always crowded. The audience of snooker here is often linked to people that do criminal activity it are linked to shady people, or sometimes adults that are involved in too many things. Atleast that’s how it feels like it.

It was a real pleasure meeting His Excellency Paulo Domingues, the Ambassador of Portugal in Islamabad. 🇵🇹🇵🇰

We talked about travel, creators, and the kind of opportunities that open up when two countries get curious about each other. He was warm, welcoming, and a great listener.

Unusual sports in Quetta - Episode 1

We found out trend eventually reaches quetta and it did, we got state of the art padel court here that makes you feel like you’re out of the province. Its ambience, vibes and even the community joining made it feel like you’d want to stay for hours.

Even the chai was great, I feel like @elitesportsarena.qta has done an amazing job at making things place.

Always nice to spend some time with Quetta creators. Today felt like we weren’t in Balochistan for a moment. It felt too real.. life felt too normal. It felt good and nice.

We visited Voronezh as part of the IFY26 regional program, travelling together with an amazing group of peers after the festival in Yekaterinburg.

Voronezh was the stop I was most curious about. I had heard it was the city closest to Ukraine and that visiting might be unsafe. In reality, we felt safe the entire time. We travelled well beyond the city into rural Russia, and I was surprised by how developed it is. People work hard, and they live happily.

As a former journalist and vlogger, it was thrilling to walk through places I had only read about in books or seen in videos: the countryside, the townspeople, the local food. It was an experience I’ll remember for a long time.#
Thank you for the experience @wyffest
