~ I don’t often give life to my problems by speaking about them. Everyone goes through struggles of their own. Everyone has issues of their own and everyone has a story of their own. This is my story.
Life has not been easy. But it was never meant to be, again- Great things never come from comfort zones.
I often say to myself, that ‘you are doing this all on your own.’ Truth be told I’m not. God has blessed me with people who came into my life as strangers but are like family to me and that in itself is a blessing.
I am forever grateful. From winning my scholarship to graduating to where I am now. I will miss my university experience but I am leaving ever-changed, resilient and more confident than ever. Oh and one degree hotter of course🥵🔥📜.

Can you believe it? A year has already gone. 🥹🇺🇳

A little over a year ago, I walked across the stage at UWI, not fully knowing where the journey ahead would take me. Shortly after, I began my journey as a Research Assistant at the United Nations Development Program for Inclusive Growth, Social Policy & Good Governance, and what a journey it has been.

Over the past year, I’ve had the privilege of representing UNDP and my country across Trinidad & Tobago from delivering presentations and engaging with communities across the country, to being assistant coordinator for a National Youth Anthem, to co-authoring UNDP’s Youth Engagement Guidelines Manual. Each experience has challenged me, pushed me beyond my comfort zone, and allowed me to contribute to something bigger than myself.

I’ve learnt so much, grown both personally and professionally, met some incredible people, and gained experiences that I’ll carry with me for years to come.

I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who has poured into me, taught me, encouraged me and made this experience so special. I’m proud to be part of an organization that gives me the opportunity to contribute to something bigger than myself and, most importantly, to play my part in building a better Trinidad & Tobago. 🇹🇹❤️

One year down, and thankfully, another one to go! 🙌🏾 Here’s to continuing to learn, grow, serve and make an impact. ✨ by @fari.tingz

A few months ago, I joined @undpttco , and little did I know that one of the most rewarding experiences would be getting the opportunity to work on the Youth Forum on Justice, Gender & Security Project.

Last Friday, we celebrated the closing of the project, and while it’s bittersweet to see this chapter come to an end, I’m incredibly grateful to have been part of a team dedicated to researching, advocating for, and creating spaces where young people can meaningfully shape the future of Trinidad and Tobago.

This project reminded me that youth engagement is about so much more than consultation it’s about co-creation, shared decision-making, and trusting young people to lead positive change. Although this chapter has closed, I truly believe it’s only the beginning of the change for the future of the youth landscape in the country.

These moments are from the Closing Ceremony at UTT NAPA last Friday and the Youth Policy Dialogue on Democracy & Development held on 16 July at UWI LRC in partnership with the @uwistaguild and Heroes Foundation. Here’s to the work that continues. 💙🌍✨

On February 4th 2026, I had the pleasure of co-presenting at the United Nation’s Development Program Trinidad and Tobago🇹🇹 Youth Forum’s National Dialogue on Youth and Inclusive Development @undpttco which brought together Government partners, Private Sector, CSOs, educators, schools, Youth Forum members, and youth leaders to exchange perspectives and co-create solutions that reflect the realities of young people across the country.

I feel extremely blessed to be a part of such an amazing team and to be working with an organization that offers me such opportunities and to be able to do work that has an impact in my country as we try to form #thettwewant !!!

From Participation to Partnership. From Consultation to Co-Creation.

On Wednesday 24th June 2026 I had the proud honour to present at the Launch of the UNDP Multi-Sectoral Youth Engagement Guidelines Workshop, bringing together an inspiring cross-section of government representatives, youth leaders, civil society organisations, the private sector, academia, and development partners—all united by a shared commitment to advancing meaningful youth engagement across Trinidad and Tobago.

Developed through the UNDP Youth Forum for Gender, Justice and Security, the Youth Engagement Guidelines provides a practical framework to help institutions engage young people in ways that are meaningful, ethical, inclusive, and sustainable. More than a set of recommendations, they challenge us to move beyond symbolic participation and create spaces where young people are genuine partners in shaping decisions, policies, and action.

The conversations throughout the workshop reinforced a powerful message: the challenge is not whether young people are engaged—it is whether our institutions are prepared engage youth in ways they are already engaging the world.

By bringing together diverse sectors, this workshop marked another important step toward building stronger partnerships, fostering intergenerational collaboration, and embedding youth voices into the systems that shape our nation’s future.

Youth are redefining the Rules of Engagement
