Slipware Workshop with Jane and Dylan Bowen in Oxfordshire.
I was very lucky to attend this course am very grateful to the Bowens. Have been a huge admirer of Dylan Bowen's slipware. Was also a pleasure to meet Jane Bowen and discover her work.

An inner wall of Shah Jahan mosque in Thatta, Sindh tells a story of pillage as well as environmental decay. The absence of glazed tiles, reveal the underlying local red earthenware (terracota) clay - a silent witness to the modification of landscapes over time. I re-visit these aesthetics in my final leg of my ceramic diploma.

Flashback to a visit to Multan, the City of Saints. Multan is synonymous with blue & white ceramics. Shah Yusuf Gardezi Shrine is considered to be a marvel of architecture in Punjab and made of the finest Multan ceramic tiles that thankfully remain in superb condition.
The Gardezi Family have been in Multan since the eleventh century and trace their roots back to Afghanistan.
