Midlife is when retirement stops feeling abstract and starts getting personal. Some days I feel like I’m just getting started and other days…I be refreshing that retirement account balance. A few reminders, I’m telling myself: 💰💰Your 40s and 50s are often peak earning years, which means even small increases in investing now can have a big long-term impact. 📍Retirement is not an age. It’s a number and a plan. 💻 Refreshing your portfolio 14 times a day does not count as financial planning. We recently engaged with a new financial planner to help us understand all the different retirement scenarios in our future. It’s an opportunity to get real but also understand options. 18 months ago we launched The Montclair Pod thinking we’d make a dozen episodes and call it a day.
