I like to smile. I like having a good time outside and helping to spread that positivity to others around me. But this January has been really hard. Keeping that smile on has been exhausting. Mental health has never really been a struggle for me and this is all a little new. I’ve never been one to hide how I feel about any topic, and this is no different. I’m lucky to have a supportive family, a loving partner, and a badass team to work with. I guess my point here is that mental trauma is rough, but you are never alone and I hope this might help you know that. 📷: @wherethewildthingsrun #shred4sean taken in Mt Bachelor by @faroutfudge

Good ‘N You?!
Been quite a while since I’ve made a post here. The end of ski season was amazing. Made so many new friends in my first year in the Mount Washington Valley. Started my own tree removal business in the spring. Now it’s summer and I’m finding a great balance of family, fun, work, friends, love, bikes, runs, dogs, and river hangs! Friends on a powder day!

Really can’t believe how incredible this season has been. If anyone had asked me what I thought this season would hold I wouldn’t have answered like this. Moving back across the country was scary and took a lot of mental prep. The friends I’ve made already and the community I’m finding here has been all time and made this big change so much easier than I ever could have imagined. Yesterday deserves a permanent spot on the feed.

Keeping expectations low is a great way to enjoy winter on the east coast. And then you get days like this! Socked in and snowing at the trail head, blowing hard and still cloud covered at the base of the bowl we pressed on to see if that blowing snow had created any hazards in our choice of line. When we got to the entrance the wind had turned off and the sun started to come out. We dug into the snow to find no red flags and began to boot up. What followed was some of the best skiing in Tuckerman ravine you can get. Stable conditions, good snow, and great company!

The other day was “world diabetes day” and sharing that with the world is always helpful to take a little off my mental plate. The truth is that every day, night, week, month, year, is “diabetes day”. It’s 24/7/365 with no breaks and a constant state of balance between medical emergencies that most will luckily never have to deal with. I have never let it stop me from doing anything I’ve wanted to do and if anything it’s pushed me to prove that I can do it. I have also always said that it makes me who I am and I’d never wish to have never had it, but after 20+ years, I’m pretty ready for a cure or at least some cheaper medication. If you’ve ever shared a laugh over the beetus with me or been there to see me take care of the literal highs and lows just know I appreciate your presence in this journey. by @faroutfudge
