You do not always need a plane ticket to feel like yourself again.

Sometimes, you just need to get out of your usual environment long enough to breathe, #reset, and come back with a clearer mind.

One of my favorite ways to do that is with a #staycation. ✨

This weekend, I stayed at @sandmanhotels in Las Colinas, and it was exactly the change of scenery I needed.

In a perfect world, every staycation would be completely work-free. But when I have a lot on my plate and no time to fully step away, I like to mix a little business with pleasure.

The first night, I go out, enjoy myself, and relax. The next day, I stay in the room, get some work done, watch TV, order food, and move at my own pace. Then I check out on Sunday feeling lighter, clearer, and refreshed.

I do not do this every time because, you know... #balance. But sometimes, rest does not have to mean stopping everything. Sometimes, it simply means changing your environment, slowing down, and giving yourself room to breathe.

So, if you have been feeling burned out, overwhelmed, or stuck in the same routine, this is your sign to change things up.

The VIP Dallas pride party on Friday was such a nice break. These last few weeks I've been in grind mode and I'm so grateful that one of my clients who sponsored the party and @dallasprideofficial invited little old me to come.

It was a good time with good food and good people.

Friendly reminder: Your value isn't found in your perfection. It’s found in your utility. Your audience isn't looking for flawless; they’re looking for a solution.

They don’t care if you had to watch the tutorial twice or rewrite the caption four times. They care that you showed up. You are valuable as an extra brain, a second set of eyes, and a willing hand. It doesn’t have to be a masterpiece; it just has to work.

This year has been a rollercoaster with its share of ups and downs, but the highs have far outweighed the lows.

This picture is from my recent trip to Chicago, which happened days after a consultation with a new client. Nerves and all, it was worth it.

Never would I have thought that I would agree to a trip with such a fast turnaround, but it was one of the ways that I was able to close the deal.

During a virtual coffee chat, a fellow marketing strategist asked me something that made me giggle.

She said, “Do you show up with clients wearing your head wrap?”

I said most definitely… because this is ME.

I don’t wear head wraps because my hair isn’t done.

I wear them because they’re part of my style, my culture, and how I feel most like myself.

And when I work with my clients, I show up the same way, authentically.

Because building systems, strategy, and structure for someone’s business isn’t just about software… it’s about trust.

And trust grows when people know they’re working with a real person. Do I hold some parts of myself just for me? Yes. However, I am always going to be ME!

So during Women’s History Month, here’s a reminder:

You don’t have to shrink, edit, or water yourself down to be taken seriously.

Sometimes the most powerful thing you can do in business is simply show up as yourself.

Progress is a system.

It’s a framework for showing up, improving, and repeating the process over time.

▫️The person who writes one page a day eventually writes a book.
▫️The person who learns one new skill at a time builds expertise.
▫️The person who keeps showing up compounds progress.

Progress comes from building a system that allows growth to happen—even when you can’t see it.

Remember:
Small improvements, repeated over time, lead to growth.

You can tweak the system along the way. That’s part of the process.
