STILL HERE ✦ Thank you. On 8 and 9 October, Rotondes @rotondes brought together two years of shared stories and creation from Empowering Creative Minds, a Creative Europe project by Douri, CRN, Dla Ziemi and Unaedi across Luxembourg, Germany, Poland and Ukraine. Thank you to our artists Walid El-Masri @walidelmasri_art , Nathalie Lesure @lesure.nathalie and Farshad Afsharimehr @farshad.et.patate , and to Valeria Khripatch @kh.val.ia.mo , Tarek Alnabhan @ci_dareq and Emmanuel Fleitz @manumanok, whose performance “Same, Same, But Different” showed how trauma can be carried, shared and transformed through the body. To everyone who came, listened and stayed: you are part of this story. We are still here, and so are you. 🤍 Photos by : @charlyeckodelta 📍 Rotondes, Luxembourg 🇪🇺 Co-funded by the European Union – @creative.eu Curated by: @yusra_amounah @comparative_research_network @stowarzyszeniedlaziemi #StillHere #EmpoweringCreativeMinds #CreativeEurope #DouriAsbl #participatoryart Rotondes Luxembourg by @farshad.et.patate

Meet Farshad Afsharimehr Farshad @farshad.et.patate is a Belgian-Iranian artist and graphic designer based in Luxembourg. Born in Tehran, his passion for art developed early and has stayed with him ever since. He moved to Belgium, where he pursued his craft at the Académie Royale des Beaux-Arts de Liège, graduating in 1992. For Still Here, we’re exhibiting his acrylic works exploring memory, solitude, and identity where figures, landscapes, birds, and potatoes become symbols of something deeper. The recurring potato speaks to nourishment and life at its most basic, while birds evoke freedom and the desire to escape. 📍 Opens 8 October at Rotondes @rotondes #luxembourg #art #artist #still #here @creative.eu @comparative_research_network @stowarzyszeniedlaziemi Design by: @mousa.al.shammas by @farshad.et.patate
🎨 New Interview | Farshad Afsharimehr “Challenging experiences feed my artistic inspirations.” From Tehran to Belgium, the US, Qatar, and now Luxembourg Farshad Afsharimehr’s life has been shaped by displacement, war, and reinvention. In this interview, the Luxembourg-based artist and graphic designer opens up about how hardship fuels his creative process, why art is his only language for difficult emotions, and what it means to paint from a place of deep personal truth. 📖 Read the full interview to discover how Farshad navigates themes of exile, vulnerability, and artistic independence — and why he believes institutions should open their doors to all artists, not just the well-known ones.
