Act. Create. Transform: Summer Fest

Join us for a full day of creative, hands-on workshops exploring sustainable fashion, textile reuse, repair, and upcycling.

Building on our Act. Create. Transform activities, Summer Fest brings together artists, makers, activists, and the community to explore practical alternatives to fast fashion and everyday waste. Through making, repairing, printing, and transforming materials, we want to create a space where sustainability becomes personal, practical, and a tool for change.

WORKSHOP PROGRAMME
Crochet Bandana | 12:00–15:00
Led by Kama / Gvantsa Katsadze
Learn how to repurpose old wool and yarn using basic crochet techniques to create your own bandana, decorated with recycled buttons.

Blue Batik on Cotton | 13:00–16:00
Explore an accessible take on batik using craft glue and colour to transform cotton fabrics and old textiles into unique pieces.

Turning a Shirt Into Yarn & Knitting | 15:00–18:00
Led by Geo Gregory
Give old T-shirts a new life by transforming them into yarn and learning how to knit your own upcycled accessories.

Linoleum Printing | 16:00–19:00
Led by Nini Kipiani
Learn the basics of designing, cutting and printing with linoleum, and use your own designs to transform clothing and textiles into wearable art.

Beeswax Wrap | 17:00–20:00
In collaboration with Stadtbienen and led by Lili Petkovics
Learn about bees and their importance to our ecosystems before transforming second-hand cotton fabrics into reusable beeswax food wraps.

The Patch Making | 18:00–21:00
Led by Carolyn Edmondson
Don’t hide your repairs, highlight them! Learn simple hand-sewing and embroidery techniques to create colourful textile patches for repairing, transforming and personalising your clothes.

No previous experience is required. All materials will be provided, and you are welcome to bring old clothes, cotton fabrics, yarn, buttons, or damaged garments that you would like to transform.

Registration is required via the Google Form – link in @actcreatetransform bio. Places are limited.

We dug into the sustainability standards @fashioncouncilgermany set for @berlinfashionwe

The verdict? Overall a solid pass ✅

A few gaps to close, some strategy to sharpen — growth takes time.

Im Sinne der Nachhaltigkeit!

Wir, die NHB-Aktionsgruppe des Projekttutoriums Studium Oecologicum, veranstalten am 06. Juli von 10h00-20h00 Uhr einen Kleidertausch, inklusive Upcycling Station, veganer Küfa, spannender Vorträge und Live Musik im Café Flora.

Die Aktion ist selbstverständlich kostenlos! Falls ihr aber einen Taler locker habt, freut sich die Berliner Obdachlosenhilfe über eure Spenden.

Kommt zahlreich, schnappt euch eure Freund:innen, und findet euer nächstes Lieblingsteil!
Wir freuen uns auf euch!

Hinweise:
- Das Café ist Barrierefrei erreichbar.
- Bitte bringt eure Kleidung frisch gewaschen und in gutem Zustand mit! Nicht eingetauschte Kleidung wird im Anschluss gespendet.
- Die Upcycling-Station umfasst Grundausstattung, Garn, Knöpfe, etc., wir haben auch Nähmaschinen. Es kann also einiges repariert werden, für spezifischere Reparaturen (z.B. Reißverschlüsse, Schnallen), müsstet ihr eure gewünschten Elemente aber bitte selbst mitbringen.
- Die Küfa ist aus gerettetem Essen, vegan, allergenarm, und wird ausgegeben, solange der Vorrat reicht. Kommt also rechtzeitig, und bringt gern euer eigenes Geschirr mit!
- Denkt für eure Geldspenden bitte etwas Bargeld!
- Für die genauen Zeiträume der Vorträge und der Live Musik checkt den QR-code aus - dieser wird regelmäßig geupdated!

During Fashion Revolution Week, we came together in Berlin for a series of workshops where participants learned how to reuse, repair, and personalise textiles in a relaxed and open space. With Geo Gregory, we turned old T-shirts and fabric scraps into yarn and learned basic knitting, starting small handmade projects like bags. It was a hands-on way to see how materials we usually throw away can become something useful again.

In the next workshops, we focused on creativity and repair. With Nino Kipiani, participants designed and printed their own patterns using linoleum printing, making their clothes more personal and unique. With Lili Petkovics, we learned Sashiko-inspired visible mending, using simple stitching techniques to repair damaged clothes while making them look beautiful. Across all workshops, people shared ideas, learned new skills, and reflected on how small actions can help us live in a more sustainable way.

The project is co-funded by the European Union. The workshops are part of the Solidarity Corps project "Act. Create. Transform."

Im Rahmen der #FashionRevolutionWeek organisiert @rare_berlin einen offenen Kleidertausch im Store sowie im öffentlichen Raum davor.

💚Alle sind eingeladen Kleidungsstücke vorbeizubringen und bei uns im Laden oder draußen an der Straße aufzuhängen.

♻️Während der Fashion Revolution Week können Besucher*innen diese Teile frei tauschen und mitnehmen.

Mode geht auch in fair und sieht dabei richtig cool aus!

Seit 17 Jahren stellt das der @supermarche.berlin unter Beweis.
👖dort findet ihr unter anderem Berlins größte Auswahl an fairen Jeans.

📸 am Freitag, den 24.4. könnt ihr zwischen 12 und 18 Uhr Fair-Fashion-Kiezmodel werden, und im Rahmen der Kampagne #whomademyclothes von @fashrev_de ein Statement für gerechte Arbeitsbedingungen in der Modebranche setzen.

Im Rahmen der Fashion Revolution Week von @fashrev_de , die unter dem Thema „Collective Action“ steht, laden wir mit dem Projekt „Lebensfäden“ dazu ein, uns mit dem auseinanderzusetzen, was wir tragen und wie wir es gemeinsam tun.

Tragen ist mehr als ein einkleidender Akt. Wir tragen Kleidung. Kleidung trägt aber auch uns. Sie speichert Spuren von Nutzung, Erinnerung und gelebtem Leben.
Doch das, was wir tragen, entsteht nie allein. Jedes Kleidungsstück ist eingebunden in ein Gefüge aus Händen, Materialien und Prozessen. In Arbeit, die oft unsichtbar bleibt, in Ressourcen, die zu Stoff werden, in Wege, die Kleidung zurücklegt, bevor sie bei uns ankommt. Und auch nachdem wir sie getragen haben, wird sie weitergetragen.
Im TEXTILHAFEN wird dieses gemeinsame Tragen besonders sichtbar: in der Sammlung, Sortierung und Weitergabe von getragener Kleidung als Teil eines textilen Kreislaufs.

Der Workshop verbindet Einblicke in diese Prozesse mit einer persönlichen Annäherung: Teilnehmende bekommen eine Führung durch den TEXTILHAFEN, wählen ein Kleidungsstück im Materialpool aus und setzen sich anschließend damit auseinander – im Gespräch und durch einfache kreative Techniken wie Sticken, Flicken oder Patching.
Ein Raum für Austausch und gemeinsames Weiterdenken: über das, was wir tragen, was uns trägt und welche Verantwortung wir darin gemeinsam tragen.
