3 AM. Thousands of emotions. One passport. 100 stories waiting to be discovered.

What makes people stand in a queue all night for a passport that doesn’t even take them outside India?

On 10th October 2026, Team Asli Kahani joined the madness at Bengaluru GPO at 3 AM and proudly secured token numbers 170 & 171 for India Post’s Karnataka Philately Passport.

But what touched our hearts wasn’t just the passport.

It was the people. Their excitement. Their patience. And a beautiful reminder from India Post to put our phones aside and write postcards to the people we love.

In a world obsessed with scrolling, India Post gave us a reason to pause, reconnect and rediscover our culture.

And now, Team Asli Kahani is taking this journey forward!

100 pictorial cancellations. Beautiful destinations across Karnataka. Countless untold stories.

We won’t just collect stamps. We’ll discover the people, heritage and Asli Kahanis behind them.

We hope every Indian state takes inspiration from this initiative.

For a Rs 600 paper passport.

This is Karnataka’s Philately Passport - launched by India Post, Karnataka Circle during National Postal Week. Every page is a place. Every stamp is a journey you actually have to take
People think collecting stamps is dead. But tell that to the queue at Bengaluru GPO at 3 AM.

Maybe it’s time to bring back something the internet slowly made us forget… REAL CONNECTIONS.

I found something unexpected on Zepto.

A newspaper dated 2nd October 1969, published to mark 100 years of Mahatma Gandhi.

The price? Just 18 paise.

And here’s what makes it even more interesting — this historic newspaper was reprinted by The Hindu in 2026.

Holding it in my hands made me think about something we often forget in the digital age:

What happens to our memories when everything becomes digital?

We can have thousands of photographs on our phones. We can store documents in the cloud. We can access almost anything within seconds.

But there is something different about holding a physical piece of history.

You don’t just read it.

You feel it.

And that’s one of the reasons we started Asli Kahani as a print magazine.
