🎶 Ave Maria — Caccini

The last time I sang this piece was when I was a member of the Children’s TV and Radio Choir of Saint Petersburg, where I sang for over six years when I was much younger. 🤣

Almost 20 years later, my voice has developed and transformed so much. Now I’m rediscovering this beautiful piece and learning it almost from scratch.

At the moment, I’m working on something particularly important — controlling my voice while reducing unnecessary body movements. 😊

I never realised how something as simple as leaning forward or backward could affect the quality of sound, or how much proper breath support and body alignment influence singing.

Every day brings a new discovery about my voice and how it works. Still so much to learn, explore and improve.

The journey continues. Keep practising! 🎶😊#opera #avemaría #caccini #tudublinconservatoire taken in TU Dublin Drama by @fateev.alesha

🇪🇸 Girona. The final stop before flying back home to Dublin! ✈️

Had half a day to get lost in this beautiful medieval town, wandering through its charming narrow streets and soaking up that authentic Old World atmosphere. 🏰✨ It felt like stepping back in time!

And the food? Absolutely exceptional! 😍 The perfect ending to an unforgettable Spanish adventure.

But I’m not saying farewell to Spain 🇪🇸 — just see you soon! Because Madrid is already waiting for me in December! 🥰

Adiós, Girona! Hasta pronto, España! ❤️🇪🇸

4th and last day exploring the surroundings of Barcelona. 🇪🇸

40 km away — Figueres, the hometown of Salvador Dalí. 🎭

Eight years ago, my first real encounter with contemporary art was at a Dalí exhibition back in Moscow. It was the first time art gave me that feeling of complete catharsis. I remember leaving the exhibition and crying almost the entire evening… 🥹 And somehow, that was the moment I became part of the contemporary-art-lovers crew. 😍

And now, eight years later — the Dalí Theatre-Museum in his hometown.

What an experience. The limitless power of imagination of this absolutely unreadable, impossible-to-define creator. You walk through his world and realise how small your own imagination can sometimes feel — but in the best possible way.

That feeling of catharsis came back again.

Thanks, Dalí. I’ve had it three times now… if you know what I mean. 😏🎭😂

Finished my third day in Barcelona with the Moco Museum of Contemporary Art. 🎨

And my Moco collection is officially complete! ✅ After visiting Amsterdam and London earlier this year, Barcelona was the final one.

And Banksy… my love. 🖤

Now it’s time to say goodbye to Barcelona. What a city, what an experience. It genuinely felt like a dream vacation. 🇪🇸✨

On my way to Figueres now for the Salvador Dalí Theatre-Museum — one more dose of surrealism before Spain lets me go. 😎

Muchas gracias, Barcelona. You were incredible. I already know I’ll be back.

¡Chao! 👋🇪🇸

Still walking through the city… Barcelona Cathedral, Arc de Triomf, Casa Batlló. 🇪🇸

From the peace of the Montserrat mountains to the melting pot of a proper metropolis. You can feel life constantly moving here. Barcelona is electric. ⚡️

It feels like this city somehow combines everything — energy and peace, history and modern life, mountains and sea. You feel multidimensional here.

I genuinely thought I wouldn’t find a city that could offer almost everything I love in one place. Apparently, I was wrong.

It seems I’m going to have to start learning Spanish now… 😜 Who knows? Life is long. 😎🇪🇸

Day 3. Barcelona itself. 🇪🇸❤️

Sagrada Família, Palau de la Música… and simply walking through the city.

I’m actually so glad I’m experiencing Barcelona after seeing Paris earlier this year. No offense, Paris 😅 but Barcelona and Edinburgh are now officially at the top of my “vibe cities” list.

Architecturally, Barcelona is incredibly diverse. Every area feels different, every corner has something to look at, and now I completely understand why this city is so beloved by architects.

Before this trip, so many people told me Barcelona wasn’t particularly neat and that it wasn’t safe. Honestly… don’t trust even one word until you experience a place yourself. And if you want to see the difference — go to Brussels. 🤣😊

Once again, personal experience puts everything into perspective.

I’m just obsessed with this city. ❤️🇪🇸

My second day in Barcelona took me to Montserrat Mountain. 🏔️🇪🇸

To say that this place is breathtaking and beautiful would be an understatement. It is so much more than that.

There is a sense of peace and meditation here that is difficult to put into words. Standing among these incredible mountains, you understand why a monastery was built in such a special place.

The views, the silence, the scale of the mountains… I honestly can’t find the right words to describe how beautiful it is.

I definitely found a little bit of inner peace here. ❤️

Montserrat — you are unforgettable.

After Tibidabo, I headed to Montjuïc and Plaça d’Espanya — the National Art Museum, the fountains, and those incredible views over Barcelona. 🇪🇸

I was lucky enough to catch a break from the rain AND the fountains actually working. 😅

The architecture, the scale of the city, the mountains in the background… it’s honestly impressive. Barcelona gives me a strange feeling — in a good way. It’s my first time here, but somehow I already know I want to come back.

It feels modern, well developed and surprisingly neat. The metro, buses, infrastructure — everything just seems to work. And then you look around and there’s this incredible architecture everywhere.

Go to Brussels and then come here to see the difference… 😂 No offence, Brussels!

Once again, personal experience beats any opinion you’ve heard before visiting a place yourself.

So far, I’m genuinely falling in love with Barcelona. ❤️

Of course, the city still had to give me the full experience — massive rainstorm in the evening and completely wet sneakers. 😂🌧️👟

Still positive. Still exploring. Let’s see what the next day brings.

BARCELONA — DAY 1 🇪🇸✨

My first time in the Catalan capital — and actually my first time in Spain in general. Starting to discover this country completely from scratch. ❤️

I decided to begin from the top — Tibidabo 🎡 and the beautiful Temple of the Sacred Heart. ⛪️

The weather definitely wasn’t on my side today… 🌧️ Rain, clouds and mist, but somehow it made the whole experience even more atmospheric. And the views? Still absolutely breathtaking.

Barcelona really is a city between the mountains and the sea. ⛰️🌊 Seeing it all from above was the perfect introduction.

Three more days ahead to explore the architecture, streets, food and atmosphere of this city.

Already loving Barcelona very, very much. 🇪🇸❤️

My second year at TU Dublin Conservatoire — Opera & Drama. 🎭🎶

My baby steps are gradually becoming something more consistent and grounded.

I’m exploring, experimenting, and slowly discovering my repertoire. But even more importantly, I’m discovering my body as an instrument.

Before, I thought we sang mainly with our brains 🧠 and ears. And yes — they are fundamental. But I’m learning that the main instrument is the whole body.

Core. Stamina. Breath. Support. Space. Larynx. Vocal cords. Tongue. The unconscious movements of the arms, neck and shoulders…

And somehow, all of that has to work together while staying under the control of rhythm, pitch, phrasing, technique and emotion.

There is so much more to explore.

The most fascinating part is that every time you think, “I finally got it,” you realise it’s only the beginning of discovering something new — another way of producing sound, another way of allowing the voice to come out of your body.

And that body needs to be treated well and taken care of — including in the gym. 💪

It’s challenging, but incredibly interesting. I’m very grateful to have this opportunity to study, explore and keep discovering what my voice can become.

Baby steps. But we keep going. 🎶
