Slogging thru more photos of me so it can be put off for another year. I once went out with someone who told me about how she walked out on a date bc the guy said La Haine was one of his favorite films. I of course had to defend it and repay the deed. Cold world out there.

Another one from the vault, 2012. 2nd real shot and edited work- all on one of the first iphones. A ton of reused footage from the 1st version of this that was about 3 and half minutes. I think it still works significantly slimmed down

As I continue shooting my first feature in @deepunlimitedfilm I want to go back far into the past to take a look at the first short I co directed with the wonderful @ashleyayersstudio in 2013

The Space Between Two Worlds is a dream sequence, not part of a larger piece, from the perspective of a couple being split apart by obligations (one personal, one academic). Basically after one has moved away for school they both feel an incompleteness. I visually referenced krzysztof kieslowski’s Blue (tho white is my favorite of the trilogy), The opening shots reference Odd Man Out by Carol Reed and by default 2 or 3 I Know About Her - Jean-Luc Godard. Andrei Tarkovsky is of course, always a huge influence on all of my work still to this day

Shout out to @thelowmuseum @sfqp Atlanta Zine Fest and @plazaatlanta for showing this out way back in the day. Definitely kept me humbled and motivated to keep pressing forward. Looking forward to doing another circuit run with Deep Unlimited later this year
