Just added this 1957 double-feature poster for Invasion of the Saucer Men and I Was a Teenage Werewolf to the collection!

Two absolute classics from the golden age of 1950s creature features, sci-fi, and horror. Invasion of the Saucer Men brought us those bizarre, unforgettable aliens, while I Was a Teenage Werewolf became one of the iconic teen monster movies of the era.

What makes this piece especially cool is that it’s an original 1957-era double-feature poster, making it a seriously awesome piece of vintage movie memorabilia.

I love collecting physical pieces of classic cinema like this—not just the movies themselves, but the artwork and promotional material that were actually part of the theatrical experience.#stopmotion #movies #cinema #vintage #horror by @fathom_motion

MY FIRST EVER HANDMADE CLAY STOP MOTION MONSTER. I CALL HIM “The Craboid” a creature I sculpted completely by hand for my first attempt at creating my own stop-motion monster! From the sculpting and posing to building the little practical set around him, this was a really fun project to put together.

The Craboid may be rough around the edges, but that’s part of what makes him special. I wanted him to have that strange, old-school monster-movie look inspired by the classic creature films I love.

This is only the beginning. I’m excited to keep improving my clay animation, creature designs, sets, effects, and storytelling with every project. #cinema #movies #animation #stopmotion #art by @fathom_motion

FRIDAY THE 13TH: THE GAME — PS4 ONLINE

Yes, Friday the 13th: The Game is still playable online on PS4, and I finally figured out how to get into online matches.

There’s nothing quite like loading up as Jason, stalking the counselors around Camp Crystal Lake, or desperately trying to survive long enough to escape. The game’s maps, atmosphere, music, and classic Friday the 13th characters make it one of the most memorable asymmetrical horror games of its era.

Even after all these years, getting a full lobby together and hearing that classic Jason theme kick in is still an experience.

I know how to get the PS4 version working online, so if you’ve been wanting to revisit this game, there’s still a way to experience those chaotic multiplayer matches.

Who was your favorite Jason to play?

GODZILLA: DESTROY ALL MONSTERS MELEE

Another classic Godzilla game added to the collection.

Destroy All Monsters Melee is pure kaiju chaos, bringing together a huge lineup of Godzilla monsters for massive battles across destructible cities. Pick your favorite monster, throw down with other kaiju, and absolutely wreck the environment.

This game is one of those early-2000s Godzilla experiences that perfectly captures the fun of the franchise. Simple, chaotic, and ridiculously fun.

GODZILLA UNLEASHED

Finally adding Godzilla: Unleashed to the collection.

One of the classic Godzilla games from the sixth-generation era, Unleashed is packed with kaiju battles, destructible environments, and some of the most ridiculous monster matchups you could ask for. It’s exactly the kind of chaotic Godzilla game that makes you want to pick a monster and immediately start destroying everything in sight.

The roster, the arenas, the different factions, and the over-the-top battles make this one of those games that still stands out among Godzilla’s video game history.

Finally adding Godzilla for PS4 to the collection!

This is one of those Godzilla games I’ve wanted to have physically for a while. Getting to stomp through cities, fight other kaiju, and cause absolute destruction as the King of the Monsters is basically the perfect Godzilla game experience.

The PS4 version has become a pretty cool piece of Godzilla gaming history, especially for fans who love collecting physical copies of older Godzilla games.

👽🧠 METALUNA MUTANT ANIMATION TEST! 🧠👽

A quick stop-motion test featuring the legendary Metaluna Mutant from This Island Earth (1955)!

This one is mainly about testing movement, timing, and getting that classic 1950s sci-fi creature moving frame by frame. No huge effects or elaborate setup—just a simple animation test to see what I can get out of the figure.

The Metaluna Mutant has always been one of my favorite classic sci-fi creatures. That giant exposed brain, massive eyes, and completely bizarre design make it one of the most recognizable monsters of the era.

Just a little test for now… more classic creatures coming soon! 👽🎬 #stopmotion #movies #stopmotion #cinema #vintage by @fathom_motion

🎬 YOU’RE NOT A REAL CINEMA FAN IF YOU HAVEN’T SEEN THESE. 🎬

Sorry, I don’t make the rules. 🤷‍♂️

If you call yourself a TRUE film connoisseur but you haven’t watched:

👻 The Phantom from 10,000 Leagues
👁️ The Beast with a Million Eyes
🦖 The Beast of Hollow Mountain
🦀 Attack of the Crab Monsters
🔴 The Angry Red Planet
🪱 Attack of the Giant Leeches

…then I’m afraid your cinema privileges have been temporarily revoked. Please return your Criterion Collection immediately. 😂

Forget the latest blockbuster. REAL cinema is watching a guy in a rubber monster suit terrorize a small town while scientists dramatically explain things that make absolutely no sense.

1950s monster movies, low-budget sci-fi, weird creatures, questionable science, miniature sets, and practical effects. THAT is cinema. 🎥👽

Obviously this is completely serious and definitely not a joke #stopmotion #cinema #vintage #kaiju #movies by @fathom_motion

Ray Harryhausen’s lost 1940s The War of the Worlds concept remains one of the most fascinating pieces of unrealized science-fiction history. 👽🔥 Before the 1953 film, Harryhausen developed ideas and animation tests for a version of H.G. Wells’ classic story, including his own terrifying interpretation of the Martians. Although the project was ultimately abandoned and much of the material was lost, surviving artwork, photographs, and recollections give us a glimpse into what could have been an incredible stop-motion adaptation.

Harryhausen’s Martians were especially strange and otherworldly, showing how different his vision was from the creatures that eventually appeared in the 1953 film. His designs have become legendary among fans of classic monster movies and stop-motion animation.

A fascinating piece of Ray Harryhausen history—and a glimpse at a War of the Worlds that we unfortunately never got to see #stopmotion #cinema #vintage #lostmedia #animation by @fathom_motion

🦖📦 A SEALED PIECE OF GODZILLA HISTORY! 📦🦖

I finally added this 1998 Godzilla trading card box to the collection—and the crazy part is that it’s STILL FACTORY SEALED! 🔥

This comes straight from the era of the 1998 Godzilla movie, making it a really cool piece of late-90s Godzilla memorabilia. The packaging, artwork, and old-school trading card design are such a time capsule of the franchise during that era.

I’m honestly tempted to keep it sealed because finding one in this condition is pretty damn cool. 😂

As someone who collects Godzilla figures, movies, and other monster memorabilia, this is definitely one of the more unusual pieces in the collection.

1998 Godzilla may be controversial, but the merchandise from that era is still incredibly nostalgic. 🦖🇺🇸#kaiju #godzilla #vintage #movies #cinema by @fathom_motion
