hi, fatima here, and i’ve been thinking about how easy it is to accidentally inherit someone else’s definition of a good life. what matters, what counts, what we should want, what we should have figured out by now.

truly I just want to keep paying attention to what actually makes being here feel meaningful you know?

the people I love. the things that move me. making shit. seeing sunsets. changing my mind. laughing until I can’t breathe. being wildly interested in people. having something to look forward to. making a home. leaving it to go see the world.

I want a life I can feel while I’m living it. 🪩

screw their stupid limits, you do NOT have to listen to anyone else.

i’ve had people tell me what i could and couldn’t do, what i should look like, and what kind of life i should be living….. actually for most of my life

and the funny thing is some of those people probably genuinely thought they were helping me, so no hate 🧡

but imagine if i’d let their idea of what’s possible become the limit of what i was willing to experience??

there are so many things i would’ve never tried, places i would’ve never gone, versions of myself i would’ve never gotten to meet. and i still have SO much i want to experience.

i hope you give yourself the chance to find out what your life could look like before you let someone else decide for you.

dude CAN YOU IMAGINE if i’d talked myself out of it because it didn’t make sense???

i legit would’ve missed an entire life i didn’t even know was possible 🧡

i literally sold everything and moved across the world because of a phone call from a girl i’d met ONCE. 😭🌴

and somehow that one decision led to falling in love, traveling the world, starting my own travel company, and now coming full circle to bring people back to bali with me 🥹

NONE of which i could’ve planned if i tried.

i often wonder how many incredible experiences we talk ourselves out of simply because they don’t make “sense”

you can literally decide to make your life more interesting at anyyyyy point in time, but you def have to get out of your comfort zone!!! 🧡

i just moved to a new city, have no idea what i’m doing, but instead of waiting around for friends to magically appear or wondering what to do with myself… i’m putting myself out there and trying new things!!! 🪩🤘🏽💫

today it was a dance class, let’s see what tomorrow brings!!!

consider this your reminder that you don’t need to know anyone or be good at something to go have a good time!! especially if you’re starting over too.

holy shit we’re about to have a HOME 😭🌞🍒

I actually cannot believe I’m signing a lease after years of living out of suitcases, in and out of storage units, sharing temporary homes with my international lover, or crashing with fellow travelers I’d just met.

despite how iconic it’s been… somewhere along the way I started craving a steady homebase too. and mannnn, this change is tender to my heart. 🥹

after 5 years of traveling the world, I think my definition of “freedom” has changed.

because plot twist… we change.

you can change your mind. you can change your style. you can wake up one day and realize that something you never wanted before suddenly sounds really, really good.

I LOVED the life I created. I still do. I still want to see the world. I just also want to come back from seeing it and feel like I’m coming home.

I want to bake again.
I want to make art to put on the walls.
I want to get way too excited about my plants without constantly having to find them new homes 😂🌱

I think I’m ready to let myself stay for a while.
