THIS IS ROBBIE SIMPSON 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
Twelve* starts. Same fire.

Rob Simpson has been a familiar face in Sierre-Zinal for many years now. 🌟

He finished 5th in his second Sierre-Zinal, and he clearly didn’t stop there. Over the years, Simpson has lined up at the start 12 times in total. Still going strong, his name is once again on the start list for the 2026 edition. 😎🦾

What will he bring to the table this year? One thing is certain: with a personal best of 2:32:26 💥 on this legendary course, he has already secured his place among the race’s great performers. What an achievement. 👏🏻🤩

Robbie Simpson took the W at Lake Sonoma 50K in 3:39:39. The Scottish runner came to Healdsburg and made it look straightforward on a course that never lets up.

🇬🇧 @arcofattritionbyutmb | The results 🏆

Cliffs. Wind. Mud. Long winter nights.
Cornwall delivered a brutal and beautiful opening chapter to the 2026 UTMB World Series season.

🏅 As a UTMB World Series Event, the top 3 women and men of the 🟥 100M, 🟩 100K and 🟧 50K secured direct qualification for the UTMB World Series Finals at HOKA UTMB Mont-Blanc:

🟥 Arc 100
🥇 Anne-Sofie POLLESTAD 🇳🇴 / Hugh TIBBS 🇬🇧
🥈 Charlotte FISHER 🇬🇧 / Simon WITHERS 🇬🇧
🥉 Hannah RICKMAN 🇬🇧 / Samuel SKINNER 🇬🇧

🟩 Arc 50
🥇 Gemma HILLIER MOSES 🇬🇧 / Kristian JONES 🇬🇧
🥈 Aroa SIO 🇪🇸 / Keith WIGLEY 🇬🇧
🥉 Katie KAARS SIJPSTEIJN 🇬🇧 / Lewis BOWNESS 🇬🇧

🟧 Arc 25
🥇 Naomi LANG 🇬🇧 / Robbie SIMPSON 🇬🇧
🥈 Nuria GIL CLAPERA 🇪🇸 / Raoul RAUS 🇧🇪
🥉 Maëlle BEAUVIR 🇫🇷 / Ben ROTHERY 🇬🇧

Beyond the racing, Arc of Attrition by UTMB continues to stand for more than a race:
- environmental action with Trash Free Trails
- inclusive initiatives with local communities
- charity bibs supporting Cornwall-based causes

Normally I don’t do much writing on social media but I’ve been reflecting on an incredibly fun and intensely painful 2016 when trail running was a different world from today. There’s not space for all the crazy stories in full but the main highlights were-

Marathon debut in London. I got really bad food poisoning a week before and even the Thursday before the race I was doubting whether I could start due to barely being able to run or eat properly. Luckily the last two days things turned a corner and I managed to nail a pizza and risotto as my pre race meal to get properly fuelled up. I ended up with 2hr 15min which I was happy with considering. My body was beat up afterwards, it was the days of old school racing flats and taking one gel every 10K!

Mont Blanc cross. I felt really good until breathing in a bee on the final climb to Flagere. It stung me on the back of the throat and its sting got stuck in there for the remained of the race. It was agony and I wasn’t sure if I’d have an allergic reaction and die so I ran the last downhill as fast as possible to make the most of it and won by a long way. I had the Strava segment since for that downhill and I have no idea how I managed it. Trying to speak was very painful after the race and someone had to pull the sting out with tweezers. Somehow I got all my money stolen after that while in too much pain to notice but that’s another story.

Sierre Zinal. I had a good battle with Petro Mamu for the win and managed to drop him 7km from the end. I thought he was totally done so I gave him my last gel when he asked for one and sprinted ahead. I felt too hot and was suffering but thought I could finish and win before anything bad happened. I ended up hallucinating the last few km and losing the lead 600m from the end in Zinal as you join the tarmac road. I remember zigzagging to the end, my legs going and my skull bouncing off the tarmac a few times before everything went black. It took a while to recover from that one!

And finally Jungfrau marathon, it went perfectly from start to finish with no issues and was my first win at the event. A great end to a challenging season! Good times. by @fatsimpson

Last night was a special one for Hidden Peak ⛰️✨

We were welcomed into the Tiso @tisoonline Aberdeen store for an incredible collaboration with Adidas TERREX @adidasterrex – giving our running community the chance to test the latest Terrex trail shoes on a festive 5K around Aberdeen. Led by our very own co-founder and world-class marathon runner Robbie Simpson, @fatsimpson the group hit the winter streets with the Christmas lights behind us and the energy HIGH.

After the run, we hosted a Q&A with Robbie, where everyone got to hear insights straight from one of the best in the game.

Huge shoutout to:
– Adidas for kitting out the squad with the tech trail shoes 🙌 @adidasterrex @englishruns
– Tiso Aberdeen for having us @tisoonline
– Fat Batch & Fierce Beer for the post-run cakes and beers @fat_batch @fiercebaraberdeen
– And MOST of all, our incredible Hidden Peak crew 🙌🏻 always motivated, positive, supportive and fully showing up for every event. You make this community what it is. ❤️🔥

Here’s to more miles, more moments, and more collaborations like this.
