Long time no post! Finally back at regular painting and actually super enjoying these Armageddon orks - definitely not my usual style but I’ve been building off a slapchop + contrast basecoat and just a few highlights. Super quick, which helps when I’m aiming to blast through a combat patrol’s worth of orks! 🪓

After seeing the new RG chapter master last night, I decided to have a go at using a quick hack to get this test painted in just a few hours - the black armour actually only took 15 mins! I’m strongly considering a Raven Guard First Company force to accompany Shaan, as that was his company originally. What do you think? 🤔

First tester done for the approach of Heresy 3.0 - going for this grimy Death Guard approach using my oils+brush technique. It’s insanely quick, and very low-effort with no highlight (which I’ll need for the 50 Legionaries)! Are you guys hyped for Saturnine, got anything planned?

Ok - first tutorial so please be gentle with me 😅 I’ve mentioned my secret oil painting technique to a few people now and been told it needs to be in a tutorial nearly as many times, so here it is! Im@not sure many people know you can do this; all you need is a cheap loadable watercolour brush with some white spirit in there and you’ve got a super precise way to remove oil washes from your miniatures without churning through hundreds of sponges or cotton buds! Hope you all find it useful - share with other oil aficionados and we’ll see if we can improve this process even further! Thanks!

Still making progress with the Scouts! Decided all the gold is going to use this super aged, green-tint look to ensure the Carcharodons armour looks old and repurposed, as the scouts would have inherited these suits - relics of the chapter in their own right. More metallics to come, but does the scheme need a little more colour? Building out Legionaries for my KT - this one is going to be a Nurgle-marked gunner with a meltagun. Was very pleasantly surprised to see that it fit nicely in place instead of his bolter! Fun fact: Carcharodons Scouts must wait to be given their Astartes names when they become fully-fledged space marines. Until then, they are referred to by serial number.
