If you see the extraordinary in everything, if you're in awe of the wonder of nature, if the smallest of minibeasts excites you as much as the majesty of a blue whale, you're one of us. Pollinators. Seed dispersers. Storm defenders. Habitat protectors. Waste disposers. Ecosystem engineers. Every living organism has a part to play in the health of our planet. But it is getting harder. Nature is facing unprecedented threats as a result of climate breakdown, deforestation, wildfires, species loss and an increasing disconnection from the natural world. Every species plays an extraordinary role in the survival of everything else. Our role is to help protect them. Will you join us?A thank you to @openplanetorg for their footage library. by @faunafloraint

The jungle comes alive at night 👀🌙These Vietnamese rainforest residents were caught on our camera traps popping out for a midnight snack. 😋Humans might be tucked up in bed but for wildlife, hunting or foraging at night can be a great tactic. Why?💤 You avoid the most intense heat of the day.💤 You’re less visible to sneaky predators.💤 There’s less competition whilst your neighbours are sleeping.Scroll through to watch animals at work, taking advantage of the cover of night. ✨ by @faunafloraint

In comparison to some of these animals, @theodysseymovie's epic journey looks pretty tame!Could Matt Damon take on a voyage as heroic as the Arctic tern's? You be the judge. by @faunafloraint

NEW: Camera trap footage of wild pygmy hippos! 🦛🩶Today the pygmy hippo that took the world by storm, Moo Deng, turns two. However, with fewer than 3,000 pygmy hippos existing in the wild, we think it's a perfect opportunity to turn the spotlight on her wild cousins. Check out this camera trap footage caught recently in Liberia's Sapo National Park! We've been working with government partners in Liberia to regularly monitor the presence of pygmy hippos. We spotted the species on camera trap for the first time in 2011 and there have been increasing sightings over the last two years. Using camera traps and eDNA sampling, we're helping to build a better understanding of this elusive species.Every sighting helps to inform conservation action, protecting this endangered species and its forest habitat. 🌳 by @faunafloraint

In Kenya, women in coastal communities are taking the lead on marine conservation action. 🌊A group of these women call themselves the Mamas. From beach cleaning to restoring mangroves to educating future generations on the importance of saving nature, the Mamas are rewriting the rules of what leadership looks like. With the support of a gender equality project from Fauna & Flora and the Northern Rangelands Trust (NRT) Coast, women are overcoming barriers that would otherwise keep them out of decision-making conversations. It's vital that when we're working to save nature, we make room for the voices of all who depend on it.Hear more from the Mamas at the link in our bio.📸 © Duncan Moore by @faunafloraint

Baby hawksbill turtles are being given a safer start in life thanks to conservationists in Nicaragua. This season in Estero Padre Ramos Natural Reserve, over 50 nests have already been protected and, on beaches where every egg was previously taken, poaching has been reduced to zero. This protection is offering a much-needed safeguard for a critically endangered species. 💚 by @faunafloraint

We were obsessed with Cape Verde before it was mainstream... just saying 😉The Blue Sharks' heroic run in the World Cup has given Cape Verde a chance to step into the spotlight. But aside from the skills on the pitch, there's so much more to celebrate. Including the country's biodiversity 💙.From sharks and rays to a mythically named tree, here are a few more reasons to love Cape Verde. by @faunafloraint
