posting a full 24 hours behind my peers because SOMEONE thought it would be a good idea to try to animate something?? For the first time in ages?? DOES SHE NOT REMEMBER HOW LONG THAT TAKES ????

Anyways, I’m HYPED for Lightbox this year!! My first year doing LBX was during Covid, so it was all online/virtual. My second year as a vendor, 2024, I actually got to go in person and it is now easily one of my favorite conventions ever, full stop. LETS GOOOOO !!!

After the last post about this woven blanket tapestry, I ordered a second sample where we included a yellow fill thread (slides 3 & 4) instead of the red fill (slides 1 & 2) that was used in the first pass.

6,500+ mile pilgrimage to see the ancient Minoan terracotta votive figurines (+other ancient Aegean artifacts) 𓃩

Embarrassingly, I actually didn’t realize I’d get to see these figurines in person until I was staring at them face to face, my brain short-circuiting from the absolute insanity that is the collective unconscious of humanity.

If there’s one thing humans have always loved doing, it’s making little guys. ;-;

Joe and I finally went on our belated honeymoon, to coincide with our one year wedding anniversary (although we’ve been together for 12 years now!??). We chose Greece for its mix of historical sites and beautiful beaches! We really wanted the best of both vacation worlds; exploration and relaxation (although the weather had other plans for that second part, news outlets were reporting that Crete got four months worth of rain in just two days— eep).

Our trip took us to both Crete and Rhodes (plus one day in Symi). We rented cars so we could really explore different towns, castles, and ruins. We pet so many cats. ♡ Gonna need a part 2 for the non-ceramic stuff ~

All in all, such an incredible trip it was difficult to say goodbye. But coming home with this much inspiration and eagerness to get back into the ceramic studio has made it a little easier. </3

All photos are from the Heraklion Archeological Museum and Chania Archeological Museum, with the exception of the last two! 19 is a replica sculpture from the Palace of Knossos gift shop, and 20 is from a nearby shop selling ceramics from “Mirto Politaki ceramics workshop”, inspired by figurines from the museum exhibits.

oh look! iiiit’s neopets fanart 👉😎👉

This one is pretty firmly in the hybrid #tradigital camp. Graphite over watercolor and colored pencil helped me get the darkness I needed, but the end result was sooo gray. I used photoshop to bring back the purples that I had unwittingly covered up, and to add a little more pinkish-purpley gradient pop. ✨

⁺⚘ bogworm ⚘⁺ the freshwater dragon 🫧
matte acrylic (acryla-gouache) on canvas ~ painting sped up to 5x in some parts!! I am NOT that fast. c’:

been practicing sketching directly onto the canvas instead of transferring. I think it’s helping me stay a little looser during the process and I’ve been really enjoying that!!
