My new love affair with yellow 💛
It was my grandmother’s favorite color.
Joy. Sunshine. Warmth. Optimism.
My dad loved seeing me wear it.
I still stopped wearing it because a color analysis told me it “wasn’t mine.”
Lesson learned: wear what makes you feel good, not what a palette decided for you. Perhaps you have to wear a certain shade, or away from your face, or a touch of it mixed with something else… But, you can wear it.
In yellow I feel like a sunflower. 🌻🤣🌼

✨ Color analysis check-in ✨
Have you ever had yours done?
I did a long time ago and I’m pretty sure I’m a Summer leaning into Light Spring.
I look terrible in golden yellow and anything gold-based… but soft, cool colors that aren’t too intense? Instant glow-up 😍
(And yes, my hair is currently WAY too gold 😂)
Quick tip if you’ve never tried it:
Flip your wrist over. Pink undertones + blue veins = cool. More gold/olive = warm.
Then Google your season + celebrities who share it and just see. There are some great color palettes on Pinterest. You can also utilize AI to color analyze yourself by uploading a good photo.
Staying in your color family with clothes and makeup makes the biggest difference. It’s honestly wild.

✨ Hair confession from your over-50 bestie ✨
Ladies… shampoo and conditioner really do make or break your hair, especially once you’ve had highlights (or any color work).
I got fed up with the crazy prices of good products and decided to “go on strike.” Big mistake. My hair looked dull, dry, and just… sad.
Then I went back to Redken All Soft (one I used to love back in the day, smells so good!) and oh my goodness — the shine and softness came right back! 🙌🏼
Lesson learned: it’s simply not worth skimping when your hair has been through chemical processing. Quality makes such a difference after 50.
Who else has tried the cheap route and regretted it? Redken products have always been good to me. I also love their Extreme Length formula. I’m overdue for a haircut so don’t judge. This is just air dried and brushed hair. A girl has only got so much time… I’ll add a protein treatment once a week until it’s back in shape. Drop your holy-grail shampoo below! 💕

This is sending me 😂🙃
Grandma always said I’ve got hair like a cow’s tail — dead straight, flat as a pancake, zero life. So I went full chaotic and tried heat-free sock curls… and honey, I’m obsessed with socks now. 🧦🤣
This is the 2-sock special. Tomorrow we’re bringing mousse into the mix because without product these curls said “peace out” real quick. It’s taken a few tries to get this far, okay?
Fair warning: the “socks still in” look is dangerously unsexy 😭 We’ll see if tomorrow serves better.

🚨 Lash Serum Warning 🚨

Not all eyelash serums are created equal… and some may be doing more harm than good 😳

There’s been growing concern about certain lash serums causing:
👁️ Sunken-looking eyes
🌑 Darkening of the eyelids
😔 Loss of fat around the eye area (leading to a hollow appearance)

The main culprits? Ingredients known as prostaglandin analogs — originally used in glaucoma treatments but now found in some cosmetic lash products.

Lashes are having a major moment right now — extensions, fancy mascaras, growth serums… you name it!
I’ll be honest — I was 58 and had never successfully worn false lashes. One bad professional attempt years ago left me with one lonely lash hanging on and a very strange look 😂
