A competent person who cannot articulate their value will lose the room to a less competent person who can. Every single time

In the month of June, the Quintillian had the privilege of facilitating a workshop for the staff of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority. I took a session on the Arts of Introduction.

Here is why this topic is important:

I have seen brilliant people lose opportunities not because they lacked the skill but because they could not articulate their value when it counted. In a job interview. In a funding pitch. In a mentorship meeting. In a room full of people who needed to know who they were.

The world is increasingly busy. Nobody is going to figure out who you are on your behalf. You have a few minutes, sometimes less to show up, stand out and be remembered.

So we gave them a framework. A way to distil who they are, what they have done and what makes them different into something clear, confident and compelling.

Here is what I want to leave you with:

Know how to project yourself to the world. Clearly, confidently and without apology. Because the person who can articulate their value will always have an edge over the person who cannot - regardless of who is more qualified.. by @favourfatimaabdullahi
