Yesterday in Abuja 🇳🇬, our team sensitised 66 secondary school girls and boys on Menstrual Hygiene matters.

Over the years, menstruation has been treated as a “girls-only” issue but we all know periods affect everyone directly or indirectly.

Menstrual Hygiene Education for young boys and girls promotes empathy, breaks period stigma, encourages respectful behaviour and fosters gender equality.

Our goal was to make them understand what restrain is and what it isn’t, thereby dismantling harmful beliefs and empowering young boys and girls to support each other with dignity and respect.

Together we can all help women and girls #FlowWithoutShame

📣📣Our February Community Event: On Skills and Independent practice for contemporary women.

Independence doesn’t only mean earning money. It means having skills that translate into power; to decide, to leave unsafe spaces, to negotiate better opportunities, and to imagine different futures.

Well, Independence is also learned , practiced, and supported. Access to education, mentorship, safe spaces, and resources matters. Without structural support, independence becomes an unfair expectation rather than a real possibility.

Hi, I’m Favour Shekwoduza.
I work as a Programs Assistant/Officer in a women-led organization, supporting advocacy, community engagement, and projects that focus on empowering women and young girls.

Over time, I’ve been involved in projects, dialogues, campaigns, and grassroots initiatives that have really helped me understand how systems, culture, and community shape women’s experiences. And, my mission is to create safe, informed, and empowered communities where every woman feels seen, heard, and protected.

Now, I’ve decided it’s time to use this space to share what I’m learning… the work happening behind the scenes, my thoughts on women and impact, and my own growth in the development and advocacy space.
