Dragons 🦋 a quilted 2 panel textile I made on my time at @mawddachresidency . I thought I had failed this as I struggled to get my head around the maths needed for Celtic knotwork but as I have another go I am feeling less fragile about it all … A few years ago I took a course in Dragon Light Energy Healing and the teacher said that at the decline of Atlantis dragons were (mama earth energy) persecuted and some disguised themselves on earth as horses and cats. I think also butterflies too. Give some love to the dragons if you can they are Earth mama magic XxxX

SPOTLIGHT: KATIE KING ✨

Katie King presents work at The Rose Lipman Building as part of Anne McCloy’s The Salon of the Spectacle, alongside curator Indy Calland.

Working across cut-out animation, quilting and participatory installation, King explores the sacred and the unruly through ritual, storytelling and textile-based practice. Using silk and velvet, their work moves between the theatrical, devotional and absurd — playful worlds where performance, memory and collective experience collide.

The installation brings together textile wall hangings, animation housed within sculptural forms, and culminates in an interactive audience participation piece inspired by former Hackney mayor Rose Lipman — inviting visitors to step into the work themselves.

Developed through research into the Rose Lipman archive at Hackney Archives, the project reflects on civic space and the strange rituals, performances and charades that shape communal life.

Moon Witual wider visceral experiences at the behest of a b and a M. Future anthropologists will probably really struggle to interpret the things said online during the T era of politics. I think this song really sums it up and also makes me feel (admittedly !?) 13 again 🌚💣🦋

This has had the most interest as a piece of wall art for sale but when I explain where the quote is from, each person retracts immediately. The top layer has been varnished with a fabric wax coating so it can get wet. It was intended to be sprayed with holy water from a well from my hometown, Chalice Well, believed to represent the blood of Mary Magdalene. The floral parttern is just visible and the immediacy is the 2005 Desperate Housewives Herbal Essences advertisements. The quote is from Epstein, who re-wrote one of the girls he was grooming cover letters for a university application. He mispelled baguettes, and the final sentence reads something along the lines of ‘I want to move to Paris to learn how to pleasure men for money’. She didn’t read it clearly because she loved the baguette line and two emails later explains mortification at that final line. It reveals something even further as to how much of predator he was. That the girls he groomed wouldn’t read to the end. Simultaneously hilarious and disgusting with a touch of contemporary manosphere this would be great hung somewhere where such people linger.🦋🩷
