Looking back on 50 Best Talks: Unpacked, held on 14 September 2026 at @fsgeorgevparis in Paris, as part of The World’s 50 Best Hotels.

An opportunity to share my experience as a production designer and speak with @ediblewomen about how films and TV series shape the way we see hotels, inspiring us to visit and experience them ourselves.

A wonderful gathering of chefs, designers, travel experts, hospitality leaders and researchers, exploring what brings us together: imagining spaces, evoking emotions and creating memories.

Merci encore 🌱

Forget Emily in Paris and the scripted television drama - the drama is seeing travel enthusiasts exchanging snide remarks all because their fave hotel didn’t make the @the50hotels list. All round an extraordinary few days for the industry!

Immense pride seeing our continent represented on the global top 50: massive congratulations to Marrakech’s peerless Royal Mansour (No. 26) and Cape Town’s iconic Mount Nelson (No. 34) for flying the African flag so high.

A running takeaway is that while luxury and opulence remains gold, extraordinary hospitality always speaks for itself.

2/2 Porto, Portugal. March 2024

1 - Even the stairs are adorned with cool street art like these mini house fronts complete with bin bags and mischievous decorators.

2 - Whilst I love the sunny days, my favourite experiences in Porto are always after dark. Could sit for hours at any of the quay-side bars with a white port and tonic, or a tangy vinho verde and just watch the world go by.

3 - IYKYK. Francesinha in Porto is a right of passage which your arteries will not thank you for. This one was a modern take on the whole affair by swapping the bread for a sweet waffle and adding poached eggs @florestacafeporto

4 - Finally made it to @gazelacachorrinho to join Bourdain in trying the best cachorrinhos and pica pau in town

5 - Our Airbnb seemed to come with some kind of cat-like deity who would wait outside our door and then escort us up the frankly terrifyingly steep street to the town centre. 10/10, would stay again. by @fayehuggett

1/2 - Porto, Portugal March 2024. My second time in the cidade invicta, and just as amazing as the first. Much had changed in 7 years but lots still remains the same.

1- I’m so happy that the world has joined me in the obsession with the colourful designs of the canned fish products. Almost too pretty to open! Loved the Shakespeare costumed one in this shot from @mbolhao
2 - White port and tonic with a view of the Douro from Taberna dos Mercadores. Tried the famous octopus fried rice but they must have been having an off day. @tabernadosmercadores
3 - The São Bento train station is a must visit to see the beautiful azulejos. It’s a UNESCO World Heritage Site for a reason. Southern Rail could never.
4 - It’s a pretty impressive bridge especially at night
5 - I like that this shot looks like a trompe l’oeil because of how steep the path behind is and the perfect sliver of sunshine.
6 - Managed to capture port train taking visitors from one side of the Douro up to the Vila Nova de Gaia for a tour at @realcompanhiavelha. Cheeky little cameo from one of the most aesthetically pleasing supermarkets in the world with its incredible Art Nouveau facade.
7 - Inside A Pérola do Bolhão is a treasure trove of traditional Portuguese charcuterie, wines, snacks and of course, port. On a sunny evening, I strongly recommend grabbing a selection of bits from here and heading over the river to Jardim Do Morro to watch the sunset. Is it a bit of a tourist cliche - yes. But it’s for good reason! My husband was particularly happy with we were serenaded by an actually half decent Red Hot Chilis cover band when we did it, and after a few glasses of Vinho verde, I didn’t mind either.
8 - More canned fish from Mercado do Bolhão. These ones scratched the itch in my brain for perfectly symmetrical tessellated packaging.
9 - Some drinks in the best seats in the house at @orpheu.porto. A vibe.
10 - Street art bunny made of junk. Slightly giving General Woundwort - my inner child was scared. by @fayehuggett

I used to manage the @britishfilminstitute London Film Festival partnership for @americanexpressuk which meant I was lucky enough to walk the red carpet for the Gala premieres more than a few times. Last night was a wonderful full circle moment as I got invited to be @karenkeywoof’s plus one for the premiere of Elton John: Never Too Late. Always my favourite party buddy anyway but it’s always a bonus to have a red carpet moment, and be in the same room as living legends! by @fayehuggett

The 2nd annual @50best_hotels hit London Guildhall last night and the winners from the list were all out in force.
Congrats to all the winners, and thank you @rosewoodlondon for the amazing hospitality, @no3gin for the addictive martinis, @perrier and @americanbarlon for the scrumptious clarified pina coladas and @thenomadhotel for hosting an epic afterparty. My sore feet are testament to the vibes being 🔥 by @fayehuggett

#tbt to a fantastic meal celebrating the launch of @massimobottura @laratgilmore and @jessrosval’s book Slow Food, Fast Cars at @thenomadhotel. Brining a slice of tola dolza to London ❤️ by @fayehuggett

I’ve been very lax at adding posts on here I realised so this is the first of many #tbt. A few weeks ago I was blessed to be able to attend a @resy Global Dining Access event in upstate New York with some of my amazing colleagues. I’d always heard about @chefdanbarber’s strong philosophical stance on regenerative farming, sustainable hospitality and showcasing the best produce. I was not disappointed! From experiencing the warmth of the team, hearing his passion first-hand and eating the only beetroot I’ve ever liked which doesn’t have the damp soil aftertaste - I had to pinch myself that I was really there. I couldn’t believe the beautiful setting and I hope to go back on day in another season to see what delights the team are working on! by @fayehuggett
