When emergencies happen, sometimes the FFD needs to lean on other departments for equipment and technology that fits the unique needs of uncommon situations.

This week, members of the rescue program worked with Fayetteville Storm Water on different tools and resources that could be used in complex rescue incidents!

SPA GIRL VS FIREFIGHTER 🔥🚒

Our very own Maria went head-to-head with Firefighter Taylor of @taileybaylor_ to see who could suit up faster in full turnout gear! ⏱️ Then she took on a bonus round: dragging Taylor to safety. 💪😂

Huge thanks to the Fayetteville Fire Department for letting us into your station, teaching us the gear and being such good sports. We have a whole new respect for how fast (and how heavy!) this job is. ❤️

This is all part of Fired Up for Self-Care as we celebrate our local firefighters. 🔥

A natural gas leak in Haymount has been stopped and there is no danger to the public. The road remains closed as the scene is still active. Please avoid the 1200 block of Hay street as work continues.

Yesterday we hosted an employee appreciation lunch with a western theme, line dancing, food and a friendly tug of war competition. It was a chance to take a break and celebrate the people behind City services.

Our employees keep streets safe, parks open and residents informed. Their work shapes daily life for thousands of people across Fayetteville. We are proud of this team and grateful for all they do.

Stop using your device right away if the battery smells strange, is
warm to the touch, makes popping noises, changes in shape or
color, or if you see smoke. If it is safe, move the device away
from anything that can catch fire. A damaged battery can
overheat and start a fire. For more info: fpw.org.
