The pottery club children had so much fun making these "trick or treat" bowls 🥣 a fun way to see in the spooky season and encourage sugar portion control! Gotta love these, and the one with the spooky hand clutching a candy cane is such a wonderful idea... I did a sample for them, an apple bowl to give them an idea of what they could do, but they all went with their own unique ideas. Working with children is so refreshing for the soul 😌 ✨️ 💛

Making #doughnuts on the wheel today was so much fun! I'm more a handbuilder than a thrower; so I really enjoyed this challenge! #challenge

Gearing up for some summer sgraffito workshops, so i made this little lemon sample pot, based on a traditional mediteranean style of pottery. What do you think? Would you like to learn how to do this?

Workshops will be held in Thanet x

Sgraffito is a lot of fun. This little pinch pot dressed in lemons 🍋 is so cute. It's based on a traditional sgraffito look; that is a lovely Mediterranean style of pottery. Excited to see the colors come alive after glossy 🔥!

The first STONEHEAD is finally ready! He's a great mix of creepy and warming - I do enjoy a contradiction! He's got an aged feel and appears to be screaming from somewhere deep. Had the urge to make him ages ago but didn't glaze him for about 18 months, so he just sat there patiently screaming. I had the intention of making a whole range of them, with their own unique personalities. I'd love to see a few of them in a line screaming their souls at each other ✨️😫😫😫😫

Happy friday!! Pugging for you! Every time clay is recycled, it gets stronger. Mistakes will always lead you to better things in the end. I hope this little clay philosophy takes you smoothly through your day ✨️

Glazing the beachy incense holders! The test one came out beautifully... fingers crossed 🤞 that I've remembered the exact combo 🤪

So, (im pretty sure 🤣) it's 2 coats of turquoise granite, 1 light layer of aquamarine on the edges, then 1 more light coat of turquoise granite (just to get the botz plus moving), then a thin layer of botz plus on the layered edges.

These will be in @seaspiritandstonesthestore
very soon ... xx

So chuffed with the glaze test on this incense holder for @seaspiritandstonesthestore , working with the "Change the tides" theme, the blue wave effect really works! Looks positively beachy against the white fleck clay, so i had to take it to the beach for a photo shoot! Can't wait to stick these in store; better get glazing the rest before I forget the combo and thickness of the glazes!

My day yesterday, at super speed! House plaques are some of my favourite commissions because they are just so personal. This one is shaped like a book, with type-style writing and some carefully traced pictures that will bring the book to life.

There are so many stages to this process; rolling out clay, letting it dry flat, cutting out the plaque, adding the number, tracing pictures, adding details, planning where the writing will go, writing into the clay, carving the edges to look like pages...

And there's still lots coming up!

More details on house and bus, underglaze the pictures, fire to bisque, washed underglaze for writing, clear glaze, then refire to low stoneware.
