This afternoon, Special Agent Januchowski was honored as one of four recipients of the Strom Thurmond Awards for Excellence in Law Enforcement. These awards were established by then Senator Strom Thurmond in 1983 to recognize law enforcement officers whose performances demonstrate the highest ideals of excellence in professional law enforcement. We're proud of Special Agent Januchowski and the career he's had with the FBI. Pictured from L to R : U.S. Attorney Bryan Stirling, Special Agent Craig Januchowski, J. Operation Summer Heat 2.0 was a success across South Carolina for FBI Columbia and our law enforcement partners. Surged resources used to target violent crime was the mission to make our communities safer.

Special Agent in Charge Shukla: “This FBI continues to prioritize crushing violent crime by dedicating the resources and personnel to communities affected most by dangerous criminals. Working hand-in-glove with our law enforcement partners is critical to tackling violent crime. We’re grateful for the partnerships that made Summer Heat 2.0 a success, and we all remain committed to ensuring South Carolina neighborhoods are safe from those who seek to plague them with poisonous drugs and violence.” by @fbicolumbia

We have one class left of this year's Citizen Academy. This week the class learned about the FBI SWAT program and went to the range to fire weapons that FBI agents use. FBI Columbia appreciates the enthusiasm and interest our community has in learning about the Bureau. SWAT team members instruct Citizen Academy attendees at the firing range. by @fbicolumbia

Twenty-five years ago cowardly terrorists carried out the deadliest attack on American soil, claiming the lives of nearly 3,000 people. Today, we honor the victims and their sacrifices and pay tribute to the first responders who ran toward danger to save lives. We will never forget. by @fbicolumbia
