Tech companies have until July to show they have complied with Ofcom's new codes aimed at keeping children safe online. There are more than 40 new codes that have been published by the UK regulator - the most striking are requirements to ensure robust age verification and an end to algorithms that pour harmful content into children's hands.Ofcom says the codes are "game-changing". The iPhone feature that locks down the internet and unwanted apps - it’s called Assistive Access and can be found in the Accessibility menu. We lost the loveliest, funniest and most talented colleague this week. John Shires - Shiresy - worked at @itvcalendar for more than 30 years and I had the privilege of occasionally getting to sit next to him for the programme, back in the noughties. So much fun and brilliant at what he did. My thoughts are with his wife, daughters and grandsons and all his colleagues and friends who loved him dearly. He and @gaynor.barnes.1 were such a brilliant on screen team and when I think of them together, I can still hear their giggles!For quite a while I had this short clip on my showreel with John and Duncan - John’s quip to Duncan was pretty typical and a little glimpse into the good fun he brought to our work.Thank you, Shiresy.
