H04 Makes Its Australian Site Debut šŸ‡¦šŸ‡ŗšŸ¤–

FBR’s next-generation HadrianĀ® unit, H04, has completed its first demonstration build on a residential slab in Lesmurdie, Western Australia.

The build, conducted on Friday as a real-world demonstration for a VIP guest, marks the first on-site build for H04 and the reemergence of the HadrianĀ® blocklaying robot in the Australian residential construction sector. šŸ—ļø

Laying Wienerberger Porotherm blocks, H04 attracted keen interest from onlookers and members of the construction community as it put down its first blocks. 🧱

We’re incredibly pleased to see the new Australian-spec HadrianĀ® system out of the gate and building. šŸš€

Further Wall as a ServiceĀ® operations are expected to commence in Western Australia shortly.

Mantisā„¢ has a big torch. And a very long boom.

That creates a challenge: keeping the welding wire stable and accurately positioned while welding.

That's what DSTĀ® is designed to do.

FBR's Dynamic Stabilisation Technologyā„¢ compensates for boom movement, helping keep the wire stable relative to the weld.

And at the end, you can see the very latest results from Mantisā„¢'s welding trials.

Mantisā„¢'s first welds. šŸ¤–šŸ”„

Earlier in September, FBR began initial twin-wire welding trials with Mantisā„¢, our high-deposition, large-scale welding robot.

These early welds were all about process development - tuning travel speed, wire sequencing, weld profile, crater fill and start/stop parameters.

Since this footage was recorded on 2 September, the trials have continued to improve, and we're looking forward to presenting Mantisā„¢ at Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) very soon.

This is a look at where the process started.

Mantisā„¢ begins welding trials šŸ¤–āš”

A major milestone for FBR’s Mantisā„¢ robotic welding system - welding trials have officially begun!

In these initial trials, Mantisā„¢ is performing 2G and 2F horizontal welds as we continue to develop and validate its capabilities for large-scale, heavy fabrication.

With an 8m reach and high-deposition welding capability, Mantisā„¢ is designed to bring flexible automation to demanding industries including defence, mining, shipbuilding and large-scale industrial manufacturing.

Mantisā„¢ has reached its final form. 🦾

The twin-wire, high-deposition welding equipment is installed. The wiring and precision components are in place. And Mantisā„¢ is now being commissioned and calibrated ahead of welding trials and demonstrations.

In this latest update, FBR CEO Mark Pivac explains how Mantisā„¢ is designed to tackle one of the biggest challenges in heavy fabrication: delivering automation at a scale where traditional robotic systems often can't operate.

🚢 From shipyards and structural steel to mining, defence, pressure vessels and infrastructure, the potential applications are significant.

šŸ¤–šŸ”„ Mantisā„¢ just completed its first welds.

After progressing from workshop parts to assembly, testing and calibration, the first Mantisā„¢ welding robot is now doing exactly what it was built to do.

āœ… First welding trials
āœ… Multiple weld types tested
āœ… Early results exceeding expectations

Still waiting on the final production welding systems, but the first signs are very exciting indeed. šŸš€

(And yes... somebody may have said: "That's better than me." šŸ˜‚)

🧱 What Hadrian® has made possible: Single-Storey Residential

Using FBR-developed software that can import from leading architectural CAD, builders’ plans can be automatically sequenced, optimised, and converted into robotic build data, ready for HadrianĀ® to bring to life. šŸŽØ

HadrianĀ® is capable of constructing the structural walls of a single-storey home in a single day. Thanks to the precision of patented FBR technology, every wall is dimensionally accurate to plan, allowing roof trusses, kitchens and bathrooms to be manufactured offsite in parallel, dramatically accelerating time to lock-up. šŸ

With an accurate bill of materials, the ability to cut and store blocks, or work from pre-sequenced pallets, HadrianĀ® virtually eliminates block waste, reducing both environmental impact and waste-management costs. šŸ—‘

Using its optional internal saw module, Hadrian® can also cut blocks onsite - minimising worker exposure to harmful silica dust and improving site safety for surrounding areas. 🚧

HadrianĀ® can build up to three storeys from the roadside and even construct against existing walls. Our Fastbrick Wall SystemĀ®, bonded with a fast curing construction adhesive that’s twice as strong as traditional mortar, is code-compliant in both Australia and the United States, with further certifications elsewhere underway. šŸŒŽ

To date, HadrianĀ® has built the structural walls for 16 single-storey residential homes - in real-world conditions, for real builders, alongside real trades and finishings. These are certified, lived-in homes, proof that automated construction isn’t a concept anymore, but a capability! šŸ¤–šŸ‘·šŸ

šŸŽÆ $75 Million Government Initiative Unlocks Investment in Long-Term Rental Housing

Western Australia’s housing shortage isn’t just a challenge, it’s an opportunity for strategic, impact-driven investment.

The Government of Western Australia’s new $75 million Build-to-Rent Kickstart Fund is designed to unlock supply, providing no to low interest construction loans for developments that commit to long-term rental housing.

Developers must deliver at least 40 dwellings, with 30% reserved for affordable rentals under capped rates.

This is a clear signal: private capital needs to have a critical role in addressing the housing shortfall.

But capital alone isn’t enough. To make these projects stack up, delivery speed and cost control are key, and that’s where FBR’s construction technology comes in.

Our HadrianĀ® construction robot can lay the structural walls of a home in a single day, with precision that enables parallel off-site manufacturing of other components like roof trusses, kitchens, and bathrooms. This approach shortens project timelines, reduces labour dependencies, and enhances build-to-yield speed, factors that directly influence return on investment.

By pairing private investment with modern construction methods, we can deliver housing faster, more sustainably, and at scale, while creating skilled local jobs in advanced manufacturing and construction technology.

šŸ‘‰ If you’re exploring opportunities in the Build-to-Rent or affordable housing space, we’d like to talk about how Hadrian can help make your next project: LINK IN BIO
