"I was on a young, educated, and black panel for Thurgood Marshall College Fund’s, Teacher Quality and Retention Institute in Savannah, GA. This is my 3rd year as a fellow, and I was able to lead a session on Culturally Responsive Teaching practices for pre-service teaching fellows." From Federal City, we proudly present D.I.S.T.I.N.C. Week. 🪻🐬

Join us May 11–15 for a dynamic week of connection, growth, and impact! We’re kicking things off with Distinct Dialogue, setting the tone for honest conversation, reflection, and community building. Then we turn up the energy with Game Night for fun, fellowship, and a little friendly competition.

Midweek, level up professionally at our LinkedIn Workshop, designed to help you sharpen your digital presence and expand your career opportunities. We’ll then transition into powerful learning and reflection during Queer History in Politics, highlighting voices, movements, and milestones that have shaped progress.

We close the week strong with Black Dollar Friday, centering community economics by intentionally supporting and circulating within Black-owned businesses and initiatives.

There’s something for everyone—come out, bring a friend, and be a part of the energy as we show what it truly means to live distinctly, build community intentionally, and move with purpose all week long! by @fcap_mod

Raising the Tide 🌊

Today, we honor LGBTQIA+ people of color who have raised the tide by uplifting our community through visibility, service, and purposeful action. Their leadership, courage, and authenticity continue to create space where representation is powerful, impact is intentional, and lives are affirmed.

Through policy, faith, culture, public health, and advocacy, these leaders remind us that when one of us rises, we all rise.

Join us as we celebrate their legacy and ongoing impact.
