A tough pill to swallow today as we faced a top-tier side, ending in a 5-2 defeat, bring an end to our London Sunday cup challenge. The first half was a real challenge, finding ourselves 3-0 down after an early penalty and conceding two more. But the response in the second half was everything we asked for – sheer grit and character. We came out fighting, scoring first and pushing hard, showing what we’re made of. Goals from Khalil & Bilal pulled it back to 3-1 and then 5-2, and with a bit more composure in front of goal, we could have made it a much tighter contest. While we couldn’t get it over the line against a quality opponent, we take immense pride in the fight we showed. We dust ourselves off, learn the lessons, and come back stronger. Heads up, Azteca FC

Our first league game of the season saw us face Hackney Borough.

We started strongly, dominating large periods of the first half and creating some good moments. Unfortunately, a minor error at the back allowed Hackney Borough to take the lead against the run of play towards the end of the half.

We came out in the second half chasing the game and pushing for an equaliser, but Hackney Borough defended well and we couldn’t find a way through.

Not the result we wanted, but plenty of positives to take from our first league outing. We keep working, keep improving and look forward to the next one.

Thank you for all the support — we appreciate it. 🖤💛 by @fcazteca
