#pickledbeets I made after my trip to #oldlouisville farmer’s market.
There was room in the jar so I pickled some eggs too. Let’s see what the fuss is about. taken in Louisville, Kentucky by @fciron

I was feeling bad about about breaking the handle on my bench hammer. OTOH I’ve had it at least 25 years and it was old when I got it.

Comparing it with the newer, but still probably vintage replacement handle, the thinner neck and elegant taper suggest it’s been around for a very long while.

Use vs. preservation, hammer vs. nail, now I’m feeling philosophical.

Terrible phone pic, but there appears to be an American kestrel living on top of a telephone pole in downtown Louisville. I’ve been trying to see one of these again for several years.

I saw one come to rest on a wire about a block away from here several years ago. I think they might nest on that pole. taken in Louisville, Kentucky by @fciron

Got metal shop Certified at @thefirstbuild Saturday. It’s a local make-space that’s a collaboration between the university and GE. Access is free and they have a bunch of cool stuff.

They’ve got some cool sheet metal machines that I assume came out of Appliance Park. I used their tools and my scrap metal to make some storage boxes that fit the card-files my shop supplies reside in. (All pics taken at my messy shop.)

Really nice resource to have nearby. by @fciron
