CHAMPIONS LEAGUE NIGHTS DON’T GET MUCH CRAZIER THAN THIS! 😮‍💨🔥

Real Madrid edged a 7-goal thriller against Roma, winning 4-3 in what fans are calling the most Real Madrid coded Champions League game ever. Meanwhile, PSG fans rubbed salt in the wounds after their huge win over Manchester City, doing City’s iconic Poznan celebration right inside the Etihad. Some fans are calling it the most entertaining night of the season so far, while City supporters will want to forget it as quickly as possible. 👀😭

A West Bromwich Albion under-21 player named Seven-Seven scored in the 77th minute against Sutton United, one of the most perfectly scripted coincidences in football — although the youngster’s goal only cut the deficit to 3-2, with Folarin, Amartey and Mussa on target for Sutton.

The fixture looks like a National League Cup tie, a competition launched in 2024-25 that pits National League clubs against top-flight academy sides, and these two sides have met before, drawing 2-2 at Gander Green Lane in January 2025 before a penalty shootout.

PSV’s attack has a ready-made football meme, with Romanian winger Dennis Man and Danish teenage striker Mikkel Bro Hansen listed as simply ‘Man’ and ‘Bro’ on the team sheet — meaning every pass between them sounds like a conversation between mates.

Man joined from Parma in August 2025 and scored 11 goals with seven assists as PSV won the 2025-26 Eredivisie title by 19 points, while 17-year-old Bro Hansen arrived from Bodø/Glimt this summer on a three-year deal for a reported €3 million after scoring eight goals in 15 games for the Norwegian club.

Football fans have spotted a striking resemblance during Lionel Messi’s farewell at the Estadio Monumental on October 6, 2026, with the young man said to be Lionel Scaloni’s son sporting the same swept-back hair and sharp features as Paulo Dybala and Nico Paz.

Paz was on the scoresheet that night, finishing one of Messi’s two assists in a 3-0 win over Benin, while Scaloni — Argentina’s head coach since 2018 — watched his captain sign off with a 126th international goal after winning the 2021 Copa América, 2022 World Cup and 2024 Copa América together.

Lamine Yamal and Rafael Leão shared a chat during Barcelona’s 4-1 win at Galatasaray on October 13, 2026, and football fans have imagined exactly what was said — with Leão moaning about playing alongside Cristiano Ronaldo for Portugal and Yamal insisting Ferran Torres was worse.

The joke lands because Ferran scored the extra-time winner in Spain’s 2026 World Cup final, while Leão set up Gonçalo Ramos’ stoppage-time winner against Croatia alongside Ronaldo — before the 27-year-old winger joined Galatasaray from AC Milan for €38 million on a four-year deal in August, after 80 goals in 291 games.

Cristiano Ronaldo let his guard down on a private jet and paid the price, with someone filming as they crept up and pranked the sleeping Portugal captain mid-flight — one of the rare moments football’s most famously disciplined star was caught off guard.

Off the pitch, the 41-year-old forward is now chasing 1,000 official career goals with Al-Nassr in the Saudi Pro League, having reached 979, while confirming on October 6, 2026 that he is not retiring from international football despite his row with Portugal head coach Jorge Jesus.

Olivier Giroud is now older than his own manager, with the 40-year-old Lille striker playing under 37-year-old head coach Davide Ancelotti — and Giroud has reportedly said that despite their difference in experience, respect between coach and player remains essential.

Ancelotti, son of Brazil coach Carlo Ancelotti, replaced Bruno Genesio in June 2026 after Lille finished third in Ligue 1 to qualify for the Champions League, while Giroud, a 2018 World Cup winner with 57 goals in 137 caps for France, signed a one-year extension that month, describing 2026-27 as most likely his last season in football.

Cristiano Ronaldo revealed in a February 2025 interview with journalist Edu Aguirre that he used to translate English for Lionel Messi at award ceremonies, saying the pair always got along during 15 years of sharing the stage and comparing their rivalry to Formula 1 greats Ayrton Senna and Alain Prost.

The Portuguese forward said the two pushed each other to greater heights during their years at Real Madrid and Barcelona, when they won 13 Ballon d’Or awards between them — and last week he replied with a tribute of his own to Messi’s farewell to international football.

This resurfaced photo shows a teenage Lionel Messi at Camp Nou in 2006, posing in the stands with a ball under his arm in the year he won his first Champions League with Barcelona, though injury kept him out of the final against Arsenal in Paris.

That summer he scored on his World Cup debut against Serbia and Montenegro, early steps in the forward’s football career that brought a club-record 672 goals in 778 games for Barcelona and 126 for Argentina before his international farewell against Benin on October 6, 2026.

Como’s Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia might have the most beautiful setting in world football, sitting right on the shores of Lake Como with mountains rising behind it — and this Serie A clash with Roma shows off the view in full.

Opened in 1927 and named after local rower and First World War hero Giuseppe Sinigaglia, the stadium was redeveloped from May 2026 to meet UEFA standards, taking its capacity to just under 12,400 as head coach Cesc Fàbregas’ side prepare to bring Champions League football to the lake for the first time in 2026-27.

LIVERPOOL’S £206M DUO WENT MISSING AT ANFIELD… 😬🔴

Florian Wirtz and Bradley Barcola were supposed to be the stars of Liverpool’s new-look attack, but against Manchester City they barely got going. Wirtz lost possession 16 times in the first half alone, at least double any other outfield player, and finished with a 6.3 rating, while Barcola managed just 6.6. It continues a quiet run for the PSG signing, who hasn’t hit a 7.0 rating in any of his last three games against Bournemouth, Tottenham and Fulham. Meanwhile, City cruised to a 3-0 win after Gravenberch’s red card, with Mark Goldbridge furious that Haaland appeared to ask for the sending off before scoring minutes later. Some fans say £206M on these two is already looking like a disaster, while others say it’s far too early to write them off. 👀🔥

Have Wirtz and Barcola been flops so far? 🤔 by @fcquote

Joshua Kimmich’s mentality is exactly why he has worn Germany’s armband since Ilkay Gündoğan retired after Euro 2024, with this compilation showing the Bayern Munich midfielder’s relentless competitiveness, refusal to back down from confrontations and constant demands on the players around him in football’s biggest games.

Kimmich took full responsibility after Germany’s round-of-32 penalty shootout exit to Paraguay at the 2026 World Cup following a 1-1 draw, scoring his own spot kick before insisting the players were to blame — and with 114 caps, he is expected to remain captain under new head coach Jürgen Klopp.
