Another great morning of Broncos at Drop Off, this time at Liberty Elementary!

This morning was special because some of our guys had the opportunity to go back to the same elementary school they once attended. Now, they’re returning as high school student-athletes, welcoming students, giving high fives, and hopefully showing them what they can become.

There’s something powerful about going back to where your journey started and being in a position to impact the next generation.

Thank you to Liberty Elementary for having us this morning!

Another great morning for our guys as we continued Broncos at Drop Off at George Washington Carver STEM Academy for Boys.

This is about much more than basketball. We want our players to understand the importance of serving others, being present in our community, and using the platform they have to make a positive impact.

We are talking in our program about being Built for More. That means more than what we accomplish on the basketball court. It means being willing to give your time and energy to others without expecting anything in return.

Proud of our guys for continuing to embrace opportunities to serve. by @fdboyshoops

This morning, our Broncos had the opportunity to take part in Broncos at Drop Off at Yates Elementary.

Our guys got to experience firsthand how something as simple as showing up, giving a high five, offering encouragement, and putting a smile on a child’s face can make an impact. Seeing the excitement on the students’ faces as they arrived at school was special, but I believe our players gained just as much from the experience.

Thank you to Yates Elementary for allowing us to spend the morning with your students. We hope we put a few smiles on their faces because they definitely put some on ours. by @fdboyshoops

This season marks the 10th season of Frederick Douglass Basketball.

In just nine seasons, this program has established a standard of excellence…6 District Championships, 5 11th Region Championship game appearances, a 2023 11th Region Championship and trip to the State Final Four.

Those accomplishments represent a lot more than trophies and wins. They represent the players who wore the jersey, the coaches who poured into this program, the families who supported it, and everyone who helped build Frederick Douglass Basketball into what it is today.

As we enter Season 10, I’m honored to have the opportunity to lead this program and add to that history. I have tremendous respect for what has been built here, and with that history comes a responsibility to continue pushing the standard forward. We aren’t starting something new. We are building on a foundation that has already been established by a lot of great people.

Season 10 is a celebration of where we’ve been, but more importantly, it’s another opportunity to write the next chapter of Frederick Douglass Basketball. by @fdboyshoops
