The Haves and the Have Nots” is a Tyler Perry sitcom… and that shit does NOT apply over here because we’ve always extended a helping hand to those who actually communicate they need it.

We recognize our class is socioeconomically diverse. That’s real. That’s respected.

However… comma… hard pause.
Y’all can dead that narrative that people weren’t considered.

We built payments for Reunion with intention so anyone who wanted to participate had a way:

– 18 months to pay (less than $1 a day… let’s not play)
– Flexible payment plans
– Full and partial sponsorships
– Raffles and giveaways across multiple amounts

We take care of those who want to be there and who speak up 🗣️. That part matters. We can’t read minds. We can’t fix what’s never communicated.

So if you didn’t say anything, didn’t ask, didn’t engage… that’s not on us. That’s a YOU PROBLEM!

Over here? We make a way. Every time.

This is NOT a magnet reunion, non-magnet reunion, gen pop reunion, popular people reunion… or whatever labels y’all keep trying to resurrect from the dead 🪦.

All those “classifications” sound dumb as hell… when there was ONE stage to cross and every single diploma says we graduated from the same school, the same year.

This is a Frederick Douglass High School Class of 2001 reunion. Full stop 🛑✋🏾

If you started and/or finished as Class of 2001—you’re invited. Period.

So dead that narrative and Let it go Elsa ❄️

Holding onto high school designations 25 years later is wild. Deeply unserious behavior at our grown age… still clinging to imaginary divisions and beef? That’s not legacy… that’s limitation.

Life can life anyone... We are all one situation from selling feet pics on Only fans or donating plasma 🤣🤣

So in other words stop dwelling in low vibrational activities 😒 DO BETTER! by @fdhs_2g1

🎥🎬 MET on the WEST: The Finale

One month ago today, the final chapter of our 25-Year Reunion Weekend came to a close after 18 months of planning.

What began as an idea became a weekend we’ll never forget.

For three days, we laughed, reminisced, reconnected with classmates we hadn’t seen in decades, honored our journey, and created new memories together.

As you watch this recap, listen closely. The voices you hear are real messages left on our guestbook phone throughout the weekend. Genuine laughter, heartfelt reflections, and pure joy. They captured something photos never could: how the weekend felt.

This reunion was a masterclass in collaboration, teamwork, and execution. From the museum-inspired visuals to personalized attendee displays, every detail was intentionally designed to tell the story of how we MET on the WEST.

Special thanks to our reunion leadership trio: Nicole, Erica , and Symya, for dreaming big and bringing this vision to life.

Thank you to our incredible Board: Rebecca, Laurean, Allyson, Tyre, and Monica, and to our amazing support team that leaned: Randy, Kory, Ayasha, Wendell, Tim, Derek, Neicy, Vee, and Reggie for helping us cross the finish line with break down.

To our sponsors, partners, vendors, volunteers, and every classmate who attended, donated, traveled, shared photos, and trusted us with this milestone—THANK YOU. You made this reunion unforgettable.

The event lasted a weekend. The memories will last a lifetime.

As this Board and its committees officially conclude our service, we’re excited to see the momentum continue under the next wave of leadership. The future of our class is bright. 🌟

Thank you, Frederick Douglass High School Class of 2001, for allowing us to help write this chapter of our story.

Enjoy the finale. 💛🖤🚀

Going forward, all nominations and self-nominations, and questions should be submitted through FDHS2G1.com.

Join the virtual class meeting to learn more about the vision, proposed board structure, nomination process, and ways to get involved.

You are the visuals 🖼️🎨🖌️

Every great homecoming deserves more than a slideshow. It deserves a story.

From the beginning of the reunion campaign, every visual was created with intention. Atlanta became part of the experience through MARTA maps, Hamilton E. Holmes, vintage street signs, museum-inspired frames, and immersive storytelling that connected our past to our present.

The curved LED wall became the heartbeat of MET on the WEST: Reminisce.

It took us on a journey through our four years at Frederick Douglass High School; from the neighborhoods we came from and the buses and trains that brought us to 225, to our administrators, counselors, homeroom teachers, milestones, and memories. The story then carried us through Year 1, Year 5, Year 10... until we arrived at this moment, reunited.

This wasn’t about looking back. It was about honoring our foundation while celebrating who we’ve become. Because we’re not just history, we’re the future.

Special thanks to @williasy82 and @allyfbaby27 for helping source photos, and to every classmate who uploaded memories. Your contributions helped transform a vision into an experience.

Thanks to Nicole @according2kilbs for her Creative concept, reunion branding, visual identity, graphic design, motion graphics, video production, and creative direction.

Every frame was created with one goal: to make you feel at home again. 🎬✨
