Had the opportunity check a major one of the sports and travel bucket list a few years ago in Houston. As a New Yorker, every bone in my body was pulling for a Pats meltdown, watching one of the greatest of all-time engineer an unprecedented comeback in the biggest game in American sports was pretty amazing. If you’re a sports fan, super bowl week is a once in a life time experience. I typically grab a cheaper AirBnB, go just for the parties and events bail before the game (much cheaper flights if you leave Sunday AM), and it’s always been worth it. And if you can snag tickets to the game, do it. #superbowl #sb #biggame #sportstravel by @fearlessleaderstravel

Climbing a 14er is legendary, but we’re out here making 13ers cool. Grey’s Peak and Torrey’s are two of the most popular routes to check a 14er of your Colorado bucket list. The problem - if you’re not in the parking lot very early AM (we’re talking 4am sleeping in your car), you won’t get a parking spot and need to tack 3 miles more on top of an already grueling hike.
So if you’re like me, and you’re best hiking comes after sleeping until 8 or so, there’s a remarkable hike along the continental divide starting at the top of Loveland Pass parking lot to the 13,400 ft top of Grizzly Peak. The top brings epic views and if you really want to bag that 14er, you can keep on the trail to Greys and Torreys.
If you are like me and shooting for a late start just double check the weather forecast. Spring and summer in Colorado brings consistent afternoon thunderstorms. We grabbed a day in early Fall when the storms were done and it was still warm enough and had a full mostly blue bird day on the mountain. 14ers.com had comprehensive weather reports for all of CO’s 14er and 13ers. #14ers #13ers #colorado #continentaldivide #hikingtips #backpacking by @fearlessleaderstravel

Drying off the casita fireplace after a day shredding Taos. Had high expectations coming into Taos, and while the ski resort was really cool, the town itself in winter time didn’t quite live up. Granted Taos is meant to be a summer time camping / hiking mecca and the winter in town seemed a bit sleepy. The unassuming village by the mountain seems to be spot. It’s just growing (thanks to joining the Ikon Pass) from local under the radar mountain into a better known am destination, with the resort adding new condos, restaurants and lodges along the one lane road leading to the peak. However, it’s still has an under the radar feel with a “shuttle bus” from the parking lot that’s really a pick up truck pulling a long trailer, cheap enchiladas and hatch green chili and tons of barely touched terrain. So if you go, take a chance on the ski village and enjoy one of the last “local” mountains. #taos #ski #snowboard #skitrip #travel by @fearlessleaderstravel

Not one travel blog, or group tour we read before hitting New Zealand North Island, mentioned anything about visitor Gisborne or the Eastern Cape. Due to insane flooding / snow we were blocked out of crossing the mid North Island mountain pass, so we re-routed to the Eastern Cape and we’re blown away. Some of the craziest coastline I’ve seen.

Noosa is one of the most hyped up coastal towns in OZ and damn does it live up. Kayak/speed boating on the Noosa River, incredible surfing in the Noosa National Park, trendy shops and bars and only an hour from the 4WD sand dune playground of Fraser Island.

Australia and New Zealand are mint for living #vanlife. There are dozens of campervan, motorhome, RV and converted mini van options available all over both countries. We rocked the @spaceshipsrentals in both spots, and definitely recommend for budget travelers cool with having a compact ride. It’s a bit tight at night, but they hook it up with outdoor chairs, tables, awnings and grills that expand the cars footprint so you can relax with some VBs, or Sauvignon Blanc while cooking up your pasta bolognese in front of a stunning backcountry backdrop. #campervan #spaceship #newzealand #australia by @fearlessleaderstravel
