No one talks about the real struggles of starting out as a content creator… so let me go first 👇🏾 1. Your friends won’t always support you… until strangers do. The people closest to you may not like, comment, or share your work and it stings at first. 2. Creating “simple” content takes forever. A 30-second video can take 3+ hours between filming, editing, audio syncing, and thumbnail design and then it might flop. 3. You’ll spend more time editing than actually creating. The actual “fun” of being on camera is about 10% of the job. The rest? Tweaks, re-takes, and deadlines. 4. You’ll have to wear 10 different hats. Creator, editor, scheduler, social media strategist, brand negotiator, therapist, and sometimes your own camera crew. 5. Your algorithm performance can affect your mood. A video not hitting can genuinely ruin your whole day if you’re not mentally grounded. 6. You’ll overthink posting everything. “Is this good enough?” “Do I look weird?” “What if no one likes it?” yes, that’s normal. Post it anyway. 7. You’ll obsess over numbers and then feel guilty about it. “It’s not about the likes… but why did it only get 12 likes?” 8. You’ll feel pressure to niche down even if you haven’t figured yourself out yet. People will say “pick a lane” before you even know what roads exist. 9. You’ll compare yourself to people with a team while you’re doing it all solo. And wonder why your homemade video doesn’t look like their studio production. 10. It’s lonely sometimes. Content creation can feel like you’re yelling into the void, especially before your community shows up.
