Thankful ✨

They always tell you it takes hard work and determination to become successful and even more hard work to balance that success with the freedom and happiness you hoped to gain from it. However, what they didn’t tell is how sick and disgusted you are going to be with yourself during the journey for not being at the finish line. Despite all the work u put in, despite the fact you have no control of time and how slow it’s moving, despite you walking to and from school cause your car don’t work, despite the fact that your family does get along and it tears u up inside, despite the fact that you almost lost the battle with life and barely won, despite being homeless, despite the fact your teach won’t round your grade up to a “A” because you got an 89.35 and not a 89.5 , but this is all apart of the journey. It’s what makes the success feel so good at the end. It’s what makes the freedom and happiness feels like trades winds over a calm beach with clear blue waters and the sun rising or setting over it all.

No im not crying 🥹(wipes tears 😭) because this is a happy moment. I’m grateful and thankful for all the ups and downs these years have offered. Thankful for the staff at ASU who truly wants to see its students succeed. Thankful for the sleepless night filled with anxiety. Thankful for the parents who take the time to check on the friends of their children. Thankful for all the strong friends in the friend groups that nobody ever worries about because you held in down. Thankful for the frenemies because I needed that ! TOAST TO YOU ALL ‼️‼️
