in retrospect, sunsets make me cry is clearly about seasonal depression 😄. I wrote it over a long period of time, bits and pieces from poems and scribbles on side tables being added on progressively. what tied it all together was reading the wind up bird chronicles by murakami which has this big thing with darkness and a well (I think I've touched upon that before). I've always loved this idea that our minds are like these dark rooms where the more we do the work, turning on lamps as we go, the more we shed light on the deepest darkest parts of ourselves. I wanted the visuals for the video to depict that in some way and @rozbordel and @andyjon__ came up with the concept for the video. when we've been in the dark for so long, the light feels painful. the more you fight it the more it hurts, until you accept it, absorbing it within you. the process can be frightening, not knowing what lies ahead- hiding and waiting. but I for one have never been one to shy away from what goes bump in the night. #feedthebeast #downthehatch #indieartistmusic #videoclip ##altpop #triphop #indiemusic #singersongwriter #makingart #artmatters #watchmyvideo by @feed.theb3ast
