It’s been a hot minute since I’ve had a burger and the Barnyard Burger @samsgrilloakville was L.O.A.D.E.D. There’s homemade pulled pork, onion rings, and a cheeseburger topped with BBQ sauce all in one! 😱 Also tried butter chicken poutine for the first time and the cheese curds were cheesin’. Never had fiesta bold poppers before but this won’t be the last time I’ll be ordering them. I’m a sensitive gal when it comes to heat and the Oreo milkshake was a welcome refresher. They did not skimp on the Oreos 😍 @samsgrillcanada uses only the freshest ingredients for the homemade burgers and poutine. They currently have 7 locations in the GTA and recently opened a new location in Oakville! When you don’t know what to have and decide to wing it 🍗 It was my first time trying Baton Rouge and I think I’m a fan! It’s tangy with a hint of spice that I didn’t expect. Seeing everyone in Japan has me like 🥺 So I went for the next best thing and made @justonecookbook’s baked chicken katsu. It was so easy to make and yummy on the first try. Highly recommend the wire rack for baking and don’t skip the tonkatsu sauce! The amount of natural light paired with the beautiful interior makes it a great place to catch up with a friend or go on a solo date for some me time. I wanted another one after I was done 😳 The amaretto ice cream was so delicious and the pistachio centre was just the right amount of nutty and earthy flavour. There were so many different crepe options, it was honestly so hard to choose! It was so great to try a bit of everything in this mighty crepe and I was amazed I was able to hold a slice of it on my fork without it falling apart! Can we talk about the drizzle? It was like a chocolate lover’s paradise! I also tried out the Tutti Frutti crepe and the chocolate was perfectly tempered! The fresh fruit + chocolate + cream custard crepe combo just tasted so harmonious. The dark hot chocolate was so rich and delightful, it was honestly perfect to sip on a chilly day. Fulfill Your Ice Cream & Chocolate Dreams🍦🍫 @oakville.chocolato is your one stop shop for everything nice and sweet! They have cakes, waffles, dessert pizza, gelato, soft serve, and 14 different flavours of hot chocolate. All made from real Belgian chocolate 😍 Featured: • Royal Caramel Waffle with Salted Caramel Gelato • Raspberry Cheesecake Drizzled with White Chocolate • Crunchy Hazelnut Hot Chocolate Royal • Mokaccini Sundae Royal The salted caramel gelato was so creamy and a perfect pair for the royal caramel Belgian waffle. The caramel was also very maple-y and I love maple syrup so it was a hit for me! The raspberry cheesecake had a rich raspberry jam around the sides of the cake that I wish it was all over the cake! The white chocolate drizzle was also perfectly tempered and gave it a delightful crust. The crunchy hazelnut hot chocolate was unique and can we talk about the perfectly torched marshmallow?! Mokaccino Sundae Royal is the best of both worlds for soft serve. You get both chocolate and vanilla ice cream and it was sprinkled with REAL coffee beans. When they actually load you up with seafood…😍 I love me a good tom yum and @chaiyotoronto did not disappoint! I was hesitant on the seafood but WOW am I glad I went for it instead of the chicken! It had mussels, shrimp, and very yummy squid. The broth was rich and the flavours were so cohesive! They even separated the noodle from the soup so the noodles would be perfect for consuming after you get settled in at your table (and avoid spillage like clumsy clutz like me)👌🏼 The aesthetics of TABLE, the new food hall at CIBC square, are also magnificent. Fried Chicken & Korean Snacks @bbqchicken_oakville 🍗 Discover a whole new world of flavour right here in Oakville! As seen in many kdramas, bb.q chicken is now in Oakville so you know you’re getting it from the best. From golden fried goodness to Korean staples and mouthwatering snacks, every bite is a sweet and savoury adventure. Their fried chicken was sooooooo crispy, you could hear the crunch from running a fork over the exterior. The spicy dukk-bokki tasted like the traditional sweet and spicy profile, and the shrimp menbosha was very enjoyable and allowed me to learn a bit about my own cultural history (more on that later). I’m addicted to the cheesling fries, seriously. The mascarpone and cheddar powder is a lethal combination and I could not stop eating more. The subtle flavours in the BB Wings were a clear winner for me and the crunch in every bite was so satisfying to feel and hear. The richness of sweet and spicy flavours in the yangnyeom sauce is a Korean classic and the boneless chicken was so juicy and tender!
