👶🏻 You had a baby, but missing brunch with the girls and can’t stand being cooped up in the house any longer? 👯‍♀️ I gotchu fam.

Terzo is a hidden gem in #metuchennj with a spacious patio and is not very crowded. You can park your strollers by your table outside and your babies can enjoy the fresh air while you enjoy some delicious brunch and hopefully just as delicious conversation.

Not sure who needs to hear this, but just because you have a baby doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy your life anymore and do things that make you happy. Yes it might take more planning before you go out, and things might not go according to plan, but don’t let it stop you from having a good time. A happy mama makes a happy baby.

Please note that I don’t remember there to be a changing table in the bathroom though so just be prepared.

⏰ Terzo serves brunch only on Saturdays & Sundays from 10AM-3PM.

🩵🩷👶🏻 What you should look for in newborn clothing is…

1. Easy access to their bottom for diaper changes
2. Nothing that needs to be pulled over their head or over their legs
3. Nothing that requires a lot of pulling
4. If buttons, then easy to press and pull apart buttons (button quality is important)
5. If zippers, then double zippers only

I personally found button up onesies and footed sleep n’ plays to be very difficult to change them into and out of even though it is what most parents had recommended to me. Let me tell you what’s ACTUALLY easier to put them in:

Shirts without pants 👖 !! And the shirts have to wear like jackets. Doesn’t go over their head; they should be able to be put on like jackets.

Do you know what a hassle it is to have to pull the legs portion of the footed sleepers to the side when you do a 4am diaper change bc you’re trying to make sure no poo or pee gets on it but you also can’t take off the whole sleeper bc it’ll make your baby cold and angry? Do you know how loud my baby screamed when I try to change him into his onesies bc it required too much pulling and pushing his arms through tiny holes in weird positions 😭? This new mom needed something easier and faster to change them into.

Let me save you the trouble (and the money), don’t even bother with the onesies until they’re a month older. Newborns will struggle against you when you try to change them - they don’t just lie there for you to put them in whatever you want and their patience runs thin if you take too long (at least mine was like this 😂…hopefully yours is less opinionated). For the first month my baby was on a rotation of hospital gowns and the ribbon-tie or button shirts with the occasional footed sleeper (bc I already bought them, so baby will be wearing them).

5 Items I’d tell my pregnant best friend to put on her registry 👇

1 — Baby nail trimmer
I use this probably every other day because newborn nails are SHARP. Make sure you use the buffer pad to buff it out after trimming so that there are no sharp edges bc those babies be scratching everyone including themselves.

2 — Electric nasal aspirator
I use this almost every day. Did you know that newborns get congested very often? This has removed SO many giant boogers since he was born. It has 3 suction levels, plus lights and music. My only complaint? I wish it had a flashlight instead of the colorful lights.

3 — Diaper Genie
100% worth it. It’s an expensive diaper pail, but it actually locks in the smell. After putting just ONE dirty diaper in our regular trash, I realized how worth it this item was.

4 — Rolling Bedside bassinet
My must-have features: drop-down side + wheels. The drop-down side makes nighttime feeds and pickups so much easier, and wheels let me move baby around the house with me.

5 — Bottle washer + sterilizer
My 1 baby registry recommendation. It washes, sterilizes AND dries bottles and pump parts. Because nobody wants to hand-wash bottles and pump parts at 2 AM. Save yourself the time & headache, you have more important things to do than wash bottles.

*Note: The one that we have, you have to fill with distilled water and if I were to purchase again I would get the new upgraded one from Papablic that has a built in filter and allows you to use regular tap water. We didn’t know how often we would be running this thing (it uses one tank of water every cycle) and getting jugs of distilled water every couple of days is pretty exhausting when you have a newborn.

Save this for your baby registry! And follow for more tips that I would give my pregnant BFF.

Pregnancy and birth are truly superhuman miraculous shit. What can’t you do and what aren’t you capable of if you’ve created and grown another human being, overcame pain to bring them into the world, AND THEN can sustain & grow them purely through this liquid you produce called milk? We were given goddess-level powers and some of us didn’t even realize.

Everything he does is so hilarious to me 😂. All his expressions, all the sounds he makes, and all his behaviours just crack me up. The newborn trenches is real - it is absolutely exhausting, but getting to know this little human that I’ve built from scratch is also full of hilarious, fun moments. Ex. Does your baby also make this old-man-clearing-throat sound when he’s trying to show his displeasure with something (if you’ve ever heard an old Asian grandpa showing his displeasure by grunting and clearing his throat then you know exactly what my baby sounds like when we try to change his diapers)? Bc wtf I didn’t know babies did this or is mine just super opinionated bc that would also track 😂😂?
Please let me know if your baby also makes this sound I’m describing.

That time when you and I were one. ❤️🤰🏻

To all the mothers before me and all those that come after me: your ability to create life in your body is incredible, miraculous, and powerful. You built your child cell by cell, bone by bone in your own bodies. You are formidable.

Every human that has ever lived and every person who ever will…was, is, and will be created by a woman.

Becoming someone’s mother is one of life’s greatest privileges. But with that privilege comes immense sacrifice and profound responsibility.

Our children didn’t choose to be born—we made that choice for them.

So bringing a child into this world should also come with a commitment to create a world and an environment where they can truly thrive. Every decision we make today helps shape the future they’ll inherit.

Come for fresh mushrooms and healthy hotpots at @missflower.edison 🍄‍🟫.

We tried the coconut chicken hotpot and it was light and healthy with good flavor. We chose the corn, Chinese yam, white radish, & handmade noodle side dish combo and added on a side of beef. The truffle clay pot rice was also an additional add on. We really enjoyed that dish - who doesn’t love crispy bottom rice?!

If you’re at @americandream mall whether as an adult or with kids make sure to swing by @sweetcrunchtanghulu for their sugar coated fruits (Tanghulu). This was a favourite treat from my childhood in #taiwan, but is a treat for all ages. I would ask for one every time I saw a vendor at nightmarkets and street festivals (I still get one whenever I see them, as an adult 😉). I miss those days ☺️.
