Here’s what no one tells you when you’re building a pool…Everyone talks about the dream result like sparkly water, summer dips, sunset swims ✨But the real decisions come after the concrete is poured 👀A few things to think about:• Plan for future-youMaintenance, access, covers, storage — if it’s awkward, you’ll feel it every week.• The surrounds matterPaving, drainage, heat, connection to the house. 🤦🏻‍♀️ What was the worst decisionThe paving choice + installation.I don’t hate the look, but the limestone stains easily and the finish isn’t great. The install felt rushed and I wouldn’t recommend these guys.Big mistake: we didn’t properly protect the paving around the house when trades needed access to build the pool. We still have marks to fix.If you’re in the process — cover everything. Don’t assume it’ll be fine.I regret not choosing a bellow ground box roller 🫠 If you have a small area consider it. I know is very expensive but Gosh I hate moving this thing around it!✨ What was the best decision • The pool colour (still obsessed) • The pot plants — low maintenance and they still look amazing. • The size. For our space, it’s perfect. Enough room to relax and cool down, plus space to walk around comfortably.Of course, if you have more space, go bigger. But for us, this fits our backyard beautifully.Building a pool is exciting… but the small decisions matter more than you think.Save this if you’re on your pool journey or send it to someone dreaming of one 🤍#smallpools#poolbuilding by @feelslikehomewa

A little Kmart hack to make life easier 🤍 especially if you have kids.I’m currently organising my pantry, and this storage solution has been such a great find.
