I needed a moment. It’s been a week since the celebration and a few days since my baby’s 1st birthday. Although I was able to celebrate her, I had no words to share. Truthfully, I didn’t think I could make it here. But somehow...Time.

Time doesn’t have the same doubts as me. Time doesn’t have fear of what tomorrow will be. It faces each day, since the beginning, despite doubts, fears, grief. There is space for a new day, with Time, despite yesterday’s heartache. And this is how I got here.

.
On her birthday, I relive that moment in time. I wanted to avoid it, for this day wasn’t exactly joyous. Yet, she’s still mine. And I’ll find joy because I’d rather be her Mother than to not have been at all. This is just my journey. Some parts of it doesn’t feel good, other parts do. Both of those pieces coexist. And I’ve learned to be present with them for they allow me to keep our connection.

As time will continue to move on, I will continue to carry Kamaiu with me. This past year, that’s what I’ve been able to do. I’m grateful to forever feel her. Grateful to forever love her. Grateful to see her love in my loved ones. Grateful her love stands by Me and Karega @karegabailey Grateful her love transcends.

I’m still overwhelmed by the love, joy, and support we received from this day from our loved ones. I couldn’t have asked for anything more. Thank you so much @solaurenadams for not only using your creative spirit, but also your heart. I’m forever blessed by this song as it is forever archived in the emergence of our family story. I’m 39 y’all 🎂 🎉 And as I arrive here I find that my heart is open and I am anchored to gratitude. Intentionally making room and being aware of all parts of me, I am navigating my present circumstances and practicing finding gratitude in all things, big or small, remembering it is not confined by volume or ordinance. It is just deserving. I give God praise.

And in this current photographic circumstance, I’m finding that I’ve got more than love, in abundance 😆 These kids x Gratitude = I am lovingly stretched 😅🥰

Karega, you are an exceptional Father 🖤 As I’m taking a moment to reflect, not just for the sake of posting, but I’m realizing your daily efforts deserve it. And it’s not that I’m missing a moment to think about the ways you enhance our lives, but what’s usually happening is the kids are talking over us or interrupting us, or doing something that requires us to jump to their call. There’s ALWAYS something happening. There’s ALWAYS something for us to do! But this is what we prayed for! So I give thanks for what is never stopping: the noise, the mess, the work to be done, the love you give, and the ways you show up.
