I Oct 24 @PianosNYC, during a particularly packed weekend of concerts, I'm glad I caught a portion of the wonderfully-named @IHaveADreamPop, a new shoegaze/psych rock/dreampop festival founded by twin brothers Danny & @DanielChavis of the pioneering NYC-via-North Carolina soul shoegaze band @_TheVeldt with @TelepathicWindows & @DigDugDigProductions. The lineup included a diverse array of veteran and newer bands, both local and visiting, that are enthralled with sonic haze and spectral melody. It was great to see @FaithFaithNYC again, this time time in cooler fall weather than when they shared the bill with @StDivine_Official at @MamaTriedBK during the sweltering July heatwave. Formed in 1988 by NYC punk/reggae veteran @Felice_Rosser 🎤/bass (who has played with Bush Tetras & the late Ari Up of The Slits), Faith NYC brought dubby ambient avant rock vibes with Al Maddy 🎸 @MargolisKenny 🎹 /🎤 (formerly of Cracker/Camper Van Beethoven & Mink DeVille/Willy DeVille), & @Finster3 🥁 🎤, including on the bouncy, soulful, and hopeful "Love is a Wish Away", the title track from their 2024 LP. 📽️ + 📝 @TheMickLewis #FaithNYC #FeliceRosser #AvantRock #PunkReggae #IHaveADreamPop by @felice_rosser
