I have always loved cutting my own hair it’s like sculpting and why haircutting clients hair has always been so much fun for me professionally and after losing my hair through chemo I still want to make sure the chemo is cut off…and after 40 years in the beauty business, I still enjoy creating fresh looks. 😂✂️ There’s something wonderfully satisfying about taking scissors to your own hair, trusting your eye, your hands and a few decades of experience and when the urge calls, it’s a little snip here and a few moments later a new shape is revealed… People ask em all time how do I cut my own hair…being a licensed cosmetologist since 1985 probably helps. The thing about hair, beauty@and transformation…sometimes you don’t need a complete overhaul rather the willingness to implement a little change so that you can feel refreshed, confident and more like yourself and of course sometimes a good pair of hair cutting shears and the nerve to use them helps, it’s called courage and having fun! One year between these photographs and I’m truly surprised how my face and the calendar aren’t having the same conversation especially after being now a year off chemo… I’m not trying to turn back the clock, I’m simply doing my best to take care of myself with clean non-toxic products. Over the past several years, I’ve invested in brands, businesses and products that help me look and feel my best with 40+ years professionally in the beauty industry, I LOVE sharing what actually works. Skincare, hair care, lashes, brows, nails… sometimes the smallest things make the biggest difference and every once in a while, two photographs remind me that consistency pays off in the most subtle ways. Happy birthday to my delicious husband, Randy who may or may not have spent part of today wondering if his wife (me) had forgotten his birthday…please, I may forget where I put my glasses while they’re on my head, but your special day, NEVER!!! Somehow, this is the 28th birthday of yours I’ve gotten to celebrate with you and at this point, beyond grateful for every one…we’ve had a lot of birthdays, a lot of candles, a lot of cake and thankfully a lot of life to celebrate and that’s the part I never take for granted. All these years later, I still get to celebrate you, the man everyone loves, your family, friends, people who work with you, people who have known you five minutes and somehow already know what the rest of us know: You are one hell of a human being. I walked into an appointment this morning and within the first TEN MINUTES I’d received multiple compliments and questions about my nails…apparently my nails have their own PR department and completely unsolicited.💅🩷 Now, for the record, I’ve spent more than four decades in the visual arts, beauty, hair, fashion and transformation so I personally and professionally notice details AND I know what gets noticed and I have NEVER had this many strangers stop me over my nails… and here’s the thing…that’s not why I love these presson nails, I love them because I love seeing my hands look and feel polished in minutes time, professional and pulled together for a nominal expense and I can apply these with no glue or nail damage in 5-10 minutes time. No appointment, no sitting in a salon for hours with fumes and I can change them whenever the mood strikes and this morning when I was unexpectedly asked and complimented about my nails, my favorite part: “Where did you get your nails?” Wellllll…funny you should ask. 😂 I LOVE getting to share something I genuinely enjoy and help another woman feel fabulous AND let her know she too can have them, enjoy them and make money while feeling good, looking polished, savinf her time, money and potentially making $$$ and let’s face it, life is EXPENSIVE these days, the holidays and parties all around the corner so let’s give you a hand up and a way to create something you can enjoy doing and benefitting from.
