Here are 8 technical acceleration drills you can pair up with your short distance sprints. You don't have to do all of them, I'm just giving you options to choose from.

When working on acceleration you want to pair them with drills that mimic the piston action, so you can raise the threshold and then apply them again with sprints.

Don't over emphasize knee pick up, focus more on attacking the ground and trying to produce as much force as possible. A cue I tell my self while doing the drills is to snap my leg down as quick as possible.

Don't be tensed. Be relaxed and smooth as possible. Hope this helps. Make sure to follow my training page @frtraininglab by @feliperiosfc

Strength training for footballers shouldn't be complicated at all. There's no need to be "sports specific" in the weightroom.

Your objective is to get stronger in the weightroom. Skill work and the sports specific stuff should be left separate to do on the field.

As you can see there's nothing fancy or cool about strength training. In fact it could be very boring to some.

However, as a Footballer you shouldn't be spending more time in the weightroom than the field. If you're not good at your sport the weightroom isn't going to magically make u better at your sport. You must practice your sport more if that's the case. If you're good at your sport the weightroom will make u into a better all around athlete. by @feliperiosfc

Here's a progression you can do to build reactive feet and ankles for your sport. This is a lateral focus which will help you raise the threshold (of the inside edge of your feet and ankles) to be able to change directions smoothly.

Many athletes are WEAK coming out of their cuts, so this helps you to become stronger in these pronated and supinated positions. by @feliperiosfc
