Tune in at onaironsite.com at 10:15 CET on Sunday May 24 to hear a short radio drama called "Kein Grund Genug" by Felix Mayer and Marie-Alice Schultz. "Mayer&Schultz is a collaboration between sound artist Felix Mayer and writer Marie-Alice Schultz. Since 2022, they have developed audio works and installations based on field recordings, found text, and site-specific research. Their projects combine documentary material with compositional and spatial approaches, often exploring how places sound, how they are narrated, and what remains when their use changes. Their practice is participatory, frequently incorporating the voices and perspectives of people encountered on site. Earlier works include Speicher, a site-specific installation developed during a residency at Dosenfabrik Hamburg and later shown at IBA Thüringen. More recent projects include Musterstadt, an audio-visual installation on collective living supported by Musikfonds, and Past Forward, an installative radio play presented in a private apartment during Hamburg's Altonale festival. For On Air – On Site, they present Kein Grund genug." #germany #radiodrama #fieldrecording #writing #sitespecific taken in Germany by @felix__mayer

Felix Mayer's piece "Airpop" will sweeten your Sunday morning when you tune in to our radio festival. Thanks Felix, great to have you with us again this year!
"The same day I found out about the open call for another edition of the beautiful on air – on site festival, I stumbled upon the Wide-band WebSDR – a web-controlled shortwave receiver located at the amateur radio club ETGD at the University of Twente. I spent hours experimenting with the interface, gliding through frequencies and exploring the radiophonic flux of shortwave radio. The process was full of surprises: fleeting textures, concrete pitches, melody-like gestures, snippets of radio stations, amateur radio operators speaking in various languages — constantly shifting. I recorded around two hours of this. The resulting composition draws entirely from the material, using it in its pure form. Only minimal filtering and binaural panning were applied. I'm fascinated by the randomness and poetic potential of these transmissions — fleeting encounters, flickers of connection in shifting fields. Special thanks to the operators of the WebSDR at the University of Twente for making this tool publicly accessible. #shortwave #binaural #ArtRadio taken in The Hague, Netherlands by @felix__mayer

Very happy release day! Almost unbelievable that this split with Ignaz Schick is finally out - Pips and Stains - on Grubenwehr Freiburg available on tape and Bandcamp. Huge thanks to David Grodock, Ignaz and myself for the patience. .

Almost exactly 3 years ago I met Ignaz at his studio for an afternoon session which we luckily recorded and now is the first side of our split tape.

The B side features my piece Inside you (from the same year), where I mainly used recordings of running noises of gramophones, bowed turntable platters and prepared zither. Ignaz’s contribution, Inert matrix, is a solo piece from 2020.

Many thanks also to Claus Poulsen for the artwork!

It feels unreal that my first semester at HBK Braunschweig is already over – it has been amazing! I enjoyed every single day and I'm really looking forward to what’s coming next. I’d love to share some insights and the evolution of my first-ever studio space outside my bedroom – such a huge pleasure and truly exciting to have!
Also I like to thank all the beautiful people I met, especially my dear flatmate @janis.binder for countless help and for being such a great person.
This weekend, I’m in Hamburg, excited to meet friends and plan some future stuff 🎈
