Anything to make her smile! Mom is a huge women’s basketball fanatic and Sabrina White (my big sis) is the next thing coming out of women’s college coaching!!! Had to make sure that the two women that love women’s basketball in my life we’re at the biggest event of the year. Mom found out last night and has been in La La land ever since! So happy there were no delays and no hiccups. everything worked out perfect!!! My day is just starting. Back to Houston I got. Have to see the Lakers beat the Rockets by 100 lol! taken in Dallas, Texas by @femalephiljack

From a 13-year-old camper walking the halls of Cal Poly Pomona… to now walking into the locker room as a coach.

Huge shoutout to @_crispie for capturing this FULL CIRCLE MOMENT and telling the story behind the journey for the @cal_poly_post.

“It made me feel like I was 13… I am engulfed in the history of this program.”

This one is bigger than basketball. It’s about legacy. Mentorship. Dreams. And paying it forward.

I grew up learning from legends like Darlene May and Paul Thomas, dreamed about being part of something special, went on to experience the NBA and WNBA, coached at Cal State LA,and now have the opportunity to help write the next chapter of this program.

Take it back to 1992. 🚌

Before the city. Before the titles. Before the coaching career. Before I knew what the blueprint was supposed to look like.

My family hadn’t moved into the city yet, so getting to school in the new district meant waking up at 5:00 AM, walking to the bus stop with my sister, and catching the RTD across town.

At that hour, the streets were still transitioning from one night into another. The prostitutes and the dealers were heading home as two little girls headed toward a future we couldn’t see yet.

My sister and I stayed close.

Our bus driver had the same name as our uncle and grandfather. Somehow, that felt like protection. Like God had put somebody familiar on that bus to make sure we got where we needed to go.

And that RTD bus?

It wasn’t just transportation.

It was my first ride toward a dream.

It took me to school.
It took me to summer league games.
It took me across town when I needed to figure it out on my own.

I was a turnkey kid. If I wanted to get somewhere, I had to learn how to get there.

No one was coming to pick me up.

So I learned early:

Don’t be afraid.
Stay aware.
Protect yourself.
Figure it out.
Keep moving.

That little girl didn’t have a blueprint.

So she became the blueprint.

And somehow, all these years later, she’s still in me.

Tomorrow is my official first day at a place that was apart that started it all.

And standing at the beginning of this new chapter, I can’t help but think about that little girl catching the RTD at 5 AM, crossing the city with a dream she couldn’t fully explain yet.

She didn’t know where the bus was ultimately taking her.

She just knew she had to get on.

Full circle.

From catching the bus to chasing the dream…

Now I’m walking into another chapter I prayed that little girl would one day see.

Still hungry.
Still fearless.
Still aware.
Still figuring it out.

Still that girl.

Pull the string, this is my next stop. Always represent your family, the people who got you there, and where you are from. West Covina Finest!

Funny how life brings you back to places where the story started.

I was 9 years old walking these halls at Cal Poly Pomona, watching legends move, learning the game, and getting introduced to a world bigger than basketball.

The late, great Hall of Famer Darlene May was one of those people. She poured game into me before I even knew how much I was learning. Teaching me about Title IX, women’s basketball, and the women who fought to create the lane we get to run in today.

I watched the Paul Thomas era up close. National championship banners. Big-time players. Big-time energy. A standard being set.

And I grew up battling some REAL ones. Hall of Famer @lmacpow , Candace Allen, @coachmonica , Salma Rasheed, just to name a few. Y’all were part of the competition that sharpened me. 🏀

Now look at life…

That little 9-year-old girl came back with a whistle.

Different chapter. Same gym.
Different perspective. Same love.
Legacy on one side. Vision on the other.

I know exactly where I come from. Always have. Always will.

Now it’s time to leave something here.

Welcome to CPP, Sabrina 👏

@cppwbb head coach Danelle Bishop has announced the addition of Sabrina White as an assistant coach to the Broncos’ women’s basketball program.

White arrives at CPP after five seasons at Cal State LA, where she helped lead the Golden Eagles to a 93-53 overall record and the program’s first CCAA Tournament Title in 2025-26.

Year 30. 💫

Every All-Star Weekend reminds me why this league means so much to me.

I used to be the little girl showing up to every WNBA event just hoping to get close enough to meet the players I looked up to.

Now I get to work alongside them, build with them, and call so many of them friends.

That’s never lost on me.

The W has given me memories, mentors, opportunities, and a community I’ll always be grateful for.

Just soaking it all in this weekend. Good people. Great hoops. Even better energy.

Happy 30 to the league that’s always had my heart. 🫶🏽🏀

🛩️ Ever notice how a paper airplane was never meant to stay in someone’s hands?

It was made to be released.

Maybe we’re the same.

Not every conversation has to be won. Not every hurt needs to be carried. Sometimes the strongest thing you can do is let love lead.

The kind of love God shows doesn’t keep receipts. It doesn’t wait until someone deserves it. It just keeps showing up.

If we’re going to set a standard, let it be that.

Be the person who chooses grace when it’s easier to choose pride. Be steady. Be kind. Be the reminder that people can still encounter something genuine in a world that’s quick to judge.

You never know whose life changes because you decided to love anyway.
