Annamaya Kala Cotton Pae-jamah — now also in the UK. Sustainability started here 🌱🇮🇳

Desert-grown Indian lineage — indigenous cotton that colonial trade policy tried to erase in favour of what could be industrialized and exported back to us. The Annamaya Pae-jamah is cut from that same cotton, grown in India’s own soil, on India’s own terms.

They can copy the shape. They can’t copy the source.

Sold out within days across North America — the response made clear this needed to reach further. Preorders are now open for both North America and the UK. Next batch ships October 12th.

Black is coming too, by demand.

Link in story. Book yours now.

The perfect intersection of comfort, craft, and conscious styling. ✨
Meet our new 3-piece Long Kurti and Pae-Jamah ensemble, crafted for those who value the story behind their garments. We paired the incredible softness of hand-brushed cotton with the timeless geometry of authentic Ajrakh handblocks along the daman (hem) and pae-jamah borders.
To complete the look, we’ve included a generously sized, 2.5-meter Ajrakh dupatta made from pure modal. A quick textile reminder: true modal is a 100% plant-based cellulose fiber. It contains zero silk, yet it offers an exceptionally soft touch and a fluid, luxurious drape that honors both the artisans and the earth. 🌱
The Details:
✨ Straight-cut spaghetti long kurti (approx. 44”)
✨ Wide-leg, free-size pae-jamah (approx. 35”) with a deep side pocket
✨ Breathable, hand-brushed cotton for a soft, tactile feel
✨ Crafted with natural dyes and traditional block-printing techniques
Available now on femantraa.com in two rich, earthy colorways:
💙 Blue (Size XL - 42”)
💛 Mustard (Size XXL - 44”)

Comment for link in DM.

Which earthy tone are you drawn to more for this season—the deep indigo blue or the warm mustard? 👇🏼

Is a brand made of labels? 🏷️

Not ours.

No tags stitched into our clothes. (They live on our website in our product pages). No printed shipping labels on our packages. Just handwritten addresses in non-toxic grease pencil, on fully biodegradable, compostable mailers.

Here’s why:
📌 Stitched-in tags = extra plastic, extra cost, extra waste sewn into something meant to feel free.
📌 Sticky shipping labels = adhesive backing + plastic film liner that almost never gets recycled.
📌 Our old fix? Reused recycled poly mailers from our suppliers — better, but still ending in a landfill eventually.
📌 Our fix now? Mailers that go back to the earth. No trace left behind.

A brand shouldn’t live in a tag on your neckline or a sticker on your box. It should live in how the piece makes you feel, how it’s made, and what it leaves behind (or doesn’t).

Two fewer plastics. One conscious order at a time.

Have you ever composted or reused your shipping mailer? Tell us below 👇

We have been conditioned to look in the mirror and apologize to our bodies for not “fitting into” an industrial standard.
But before machines started dictating our silhouettes, we wrapped. Across India, Africa, and Asia, wrapping remains one of the oldest and most universal forms of clothing. And India has always wrapped with absolute genius.
Our *doris* and *naaras* are not mere ties. They are a profound, modular design system that we have forgotten—traded in for the restriction of elastics and zippers.
Introducing **Kosha Vasas**: a return to that forgotten science and a reclamation of our glorious roots. This collection removes the anxiety of standard sizing and returns us to the timeless wisdom of woven prana. We are reclaiming our genius garments—the *Ghagra*, the *Kurpasaka*, the *Kanchuka*—reimagined for the woman of today.
It’s time to stop trying to fit into clothes that were never designed for your soul. It’s time to return to a culture that treats the body as a temple.
Are you ready to heal your relationship with your wardrobe?
The sanctuary is now live at the link in my bio. A small, hand-curated collection. No labels, no limits. Just indigenous science reimagined.

The Sanctuary is Preparing to Open …

We have been conditioned to look at the mirror and apologize to our bodies for not “fitting into” an industrial standard.
We blame our bloating. We blame our shifting weight. We blame our natural, changing human forms.
But what if the fault isn’t with your body at all? What if the fault lies in a modern fashion system that treats human beings like rigid industrial containers?
Historically, our ancestors practiced a completely different science. They didn’t design clothes to impose a shape onto you; they engineered textiles to yield to you. Clothing was a dynamic, adaptive system of folds, tucks, doris, and naaras that honored the physical form as a sacred temple.
A garment didn’t have a fixed shape until you stepped into it.
We are preparing to introduce an alternative design system—one that completely removes the anxiety of standard sizing and returns to the timeless wisdom of woven prana.
Something shifting is coming to femantraa.com.
It’s time to stop trying to fit into clothes that were never designed for your soul. It’s time to return to a culture that treats the body as a temple.
Are you ready to heal your relationship with your wardrobe?
COMING SOON.

The modern fashion market loves to throw around the phrase “100% Pure Linen Saree”—but if you talk to an honest master weaver, they’ll tell you the beautiful truth: a pure linen saree is a structural myth. 🧵🚫
True flax linen fibers are notoriously stiff and inelastic. If you stretch them tightly as a warp on a traditional handloom, they snap constantly under the tension.
To make linen truly wearable, fluid, and breathing, ancestral weaving clusters rely on a brilliant design hybrid:
✨ The Warp (The Backbone): Fine, high-count premium cotton threads for incredible structural strength.
✨ The Weft (The Texture): Authentic flax linen yarns that bring those gorgeous, organic, tactile slubs to life.
By crossing these two fibers, the artisans achieve what pure linen alone can never do: a textile that holds its patli (pleats) crisply at the waist, while cascading over the shoulder in a soft, body-neutral, effortless drape that honors your natural form. 🕊️
This exact science is woven into our latest arrival on femantraa.com—stunning, hand-printed burgundy and deep green masterpieces featuring a striking silver zari border and a drape that feels like a second skin.
No stiff canvas. No awkward boxing out. Just the pure harmony of heritage textile engineering.
👇 Drop a 🤎 if you love knowing the real story behind what you wear!

When we sourced these new 92 \times 120 thread count cotton Mulmul sarees, we fell completely in love. The fabric is light as air, fluid, and acts as a cooling embrace for the body through warm days.
But as we prepared to bring them to you, we noticed a common industry practice: many would label these as “hand-printed Kalamkari” because a human hand guides the screen on the printing table.
At Femantraa, we believe your trust is sacred. So let’s skip the confusing terminology.
Here is the exact blueprint of this collection:
🌿 The Canvas: 100% premium, ultra-soft Cotton Mulmul. It drapes beautifully, accommodates your body naturally, and feels like absolute heaven.
🎨 The Craft: Hand-guided table screen printing using safe commercial pigments.
❌ What it isn’t: It is not traditional, natural-dyed pen or block Kalamkari.
✅ Why we love it: It allows us to offer you an ethereal, high-comfort everyday saree that celebrates classic heritage aesthetics without the premium price tag of a multi-week artisanal process.

We believe beauty and integrity belong in the same sentence. Wear it to work, wear it to lounges, wear it for your daily rituals.
Shop the Kalamkari inspired collection now at femantraa.com.
