6th Muzzle Awards Official Selection - Sensus Mori Directed by Sydney Rincón.

Overview:
When an elusive society agrees to be interviewed, a journalist must contend with their ideologies or risk falling prey herself.

In a tumultuous Fall of 1969, Lydia, a spry young journalist searches for a story and a name for herself. This obsession brings her to the Sonder Society, a private collective on the edge of town with a strange way of presenting themselves. When invited to a private dinner, Lydia learns more of the Society's strange manners and of her own sense of self.

Director Biography - Sydney Rincón:
Rincón's approach to filmmaking exercises the art of pretend in storytelling and pageantry through experimental animation, Lynchian theatre, and vibrant performance in pursuit of lively world-building.

TW; This week’s FILM FRIDAY looks a little different. Women should be able to seek an education, a job, and a normal life without the threat of sexual and gendered violence.

EVERYONE needs to work to change the system. Hold perpetrators accountable not just in the eyes of the law, but in our culture and our communities.

CREW CALL for Jesse Leonardo’s BANNED ADAPTION filming this November, 2026. A whirlwind comedy tackling stereotypes, fetish, and the literacy crisis of today— we are looking for crew members to help us bring this project to life.

ABOUT THIS FILM
Asian-American independent filmmakers discuss adapting a tamous erotic novel, but they cannot agree on what’s the most appropriate and least offensive way to do so.

(Crew roles are unpaid, lunch will be provided; gas and travel subject for reimbursements) by @femmefields

I’m Alisa Taubkina, and I’m directing my SFSU Thesis Film!

BRAINROT follows a chronically online influencer who is forced to confront reality when her phone drowns in the toilet.

At what point do our phones stop being something we use and turn into something that USES US?

I’m raising $6,000 to bring BRAINROT to life! Donations will help cover gear & insurance, crew compensation, locations & permits, art props, and more.
Any amount helps, and your support would mean the absolute world to me. ❤️

Rita Moreno made stride for latina and women of color in film during an era where few broke the mold. We are forever grateful for her work and dedication to the craft.
